“Impressed in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

The Hotel, the food, the service, the facilities and the staff were first class, beautiful situation with great views. Lovely walk through hotel gardens directly to the sea front also excellent for an after dinner stroll.but this could have been an easier walk in the darker evenings if there was solar. Lights at intervals all the way down. However this did not detract from a lovely holiday and we would certainly come again.

Thank you Deinol 2 for your first class comments. Solar lighting is provided at regular intervals leading down to the beach, we shall look into why this was not working during your stay. We hope to welcome you back to the Biarritz in the very near future.

As the rest of the reviews have stated this hotel is superb. From the moment you walk in you are aware that you are welcome. It is definitely 5* in my estimation.
Our room was spotlessly clean and modern...and the view from the deck (also led to sun deck) was just wonderful. There was always hot water and clean towels every day.
The food was excellent....the quality of all the food was the best we've ever had and we've travelled worldwide. Want to say that the muesli was exceptionally high quality to be served in a hotel....it was scrumptious and full of nuts, seeds, dried fruits etc...coupled with more dried fruit on offer made it add up to a feast..and that was before the hot breakfast....the sausages were of the best quality as was the bacon...no streaky bacon here...all best back and cooked to perfection. The toast was very good and Joseph and his helpers always kept the toast coming all during breakfast thus keeping the queue for toast to a minimum.
The service of tea or coffee was very speedy....all in all breakfast was just what it should be - a feast for a King.
Lunch is available on Sundays and on Fridays - we had Sunday lunch and it was superb.
The food served in the coffee shop is the same high quality as the restaurant.
Dinner's main course is chosen at breakfast but starters and desert is a free choice at dinner time. What can I say about the desert? Perhaps I should say what can I not say! The gateaux were simply wonderful....will always remember Lumpy Bumpy (or as I nick-named it 'Humpty Dumpty') - gosh I'd love the recipe for it! Can I also comment on the tableware....what a joy to have proper tablecloths and napkins....and perfectly clean cutlery....and also no buying water to have with dinner...it's on the table for you!
Guests of limited mobility may find the direct steps/walkway to the beach a bit much but for most it is not be impossible.
The weather when we visited was not exactly as we would have wished - a little rain most days except Friday and we were glad to have experienced one day of knowing just how warm it can get....we walked over to see the Beach Polo tournament which is now an annual feature of St Brelades.
Thanks to Duncan and his staff whom he has trained to perfection...tell me, when was the last time a female member of staff hugged you when you were leaving their hotel...guess your answer might be never....well, it happened to me twice upon leaving this wonderful place.
Book your holiday with total confidence.

Room Tip: We had room 124 which had it's own deck and then tht led to the sun deck.....if you want the bes...

This was our seventh visit to this hotel and yet again we were not disappointed.Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Our room had a balcony and the views over the bay were stunning. The bed was very comfortable, home from home. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return again next summer. Well worth a visit!

Room Tip: Go for a room with a balcony and a sea view, well worth paying that wee bit extra!

Excellent hotel and service from all the staff. Smiles all round from the staff no matter what job they were doing. Evening entertainment was excellent to say nothing of the food which was also excellent

This was our first visit to this hotel although not the island of Jersey and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived until we left we were treated to exceptional service from all staff. Our room overlooked the bay and afforded us with tremendous views from the balcony. The interior of the room was modern and up to date and was kept spotlessly clean. The hotel catered for all ages and whether you were a single traveller, a couple or a family there were activities to keep you entertained. We enjoyed the activities available such as guided walks by a very knowledgeable, experienced guide. Our food was beautifully prepared and served and although it is an unlicensed hotel you are welcome to bring your own bottle. We would highly recommend this hotel as we had such a wonderful holiday. Hopefully we can return soon.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I stayed here for 12 nights from 7th September 2013. This was our anniversary so I wanted something special and chose the area and hotel based on the reviews on this site. St Brelades Bay was the number one location within Jersey, and within that The Biarritz Hotel the number one place to stay (based on reviews at the time I travelled).

I have to agree with the vast majority of reviews on this site. The hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable and overlooks the stunning beach of St Brelades Bay. I upgraded to a Panoramic Sea View Room with balcony and it was well worth it. The view was stunning and it was lovely coming back to the room in the evening with a view of the ocean, watching the sun go down.

We stayed B&B and ate out during the day elsewhere. Dinner was available if we wanted it at £20.00 each. That was a little pricey for us but we ate at the hotel twice and the food was very nice.

This is a Christian Hotel (although nothing would give that away unless you knew), and most of the residents at the time I visited were older Christian people. That was fine by us (we are not committed Christians), and it meant there were no noisy party animals. Although I'm sure the hotel is livelier during the peak summer months when more children and younger couples probably stay. I know the hotel does put on events for kids during the summer.

No alcohol is served at this hotel but you may bring your own wine to be served with your meal if you wish. We drank wine in our room sometimes and the empty bottles were collected and no hint that there is anything wrong with doing that.

You will soon bump into Duncan who manages this hotel and his hospitality and helpfulness is second to none. He always has time to help and give advice and this cascades through all of the staff who were equally as helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and any issues are resolved promptly, what more could you ask. You won't find grumpy managers and employees here.

I was going to stay in St Helier but i'm rather glad I didn't now. To me St Helier was a little too commercialized, it seems to be one great big shopping centre, although Elizabeth Castle is certainly worth a visit. They have live cannon firing on a Sunday but don't go on stormy or very windy days as they will probably close the castle early if it opens at all.

St Brelades Bay has a stunning beach, one of the nicest i have been to anywhere in the world. There are quite alot of steep steps from the hotel to this beach so if you have mobility problems then taking this route down to the beach would not be for you (there are other routes). Not very many shops in this area either. At the far end of the beach (10 - 15 mins gentle walk) you will find a few restaurants, a Pizza Express and a couple of shops selling newspapers etc. We ate at the Oyster Box on our anniversary and although not cheap the food was wonderful.

This hotel is a great base to explore the island and everywhere is a short bus ride away. Sometimes you may have to get the bus into St Helier to get a connection elsewhere but as the main bus station is located there, its easy to get a connection everywhere else. Tip: its £7.00 per day to have unlimited travel on the buses (each), or a maximum fare of £1.70 for a single journey. You can buy a 6 day pass for £28.00 so think of that if you are likely to be using buses every day like we did.

This is a wonderful hotel set in the best location. The service from everyone fantastic and we will certainly return. You will love this hotel and the location regardless of your faith but if you do have a strong Christian faith then you will certainly find like minded people here.

Thanks Duncan and everyone else for making it a special trip!

Room Tip: A Panoramic Sea View Room will give you the best view.
