“Third stay at this gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Just returned from a three night break at our favourite hotel. As ever it was excellent, lovely room, supurb Sunday lunch and great breakfasts. Ate out at Oyster Box and Tree House, both of which were lovely. Even the weather was kind to us. Will be back in the autumn.

We stayed at this hotel as an anniversary present surprise. The hotel's view is superb. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant was really good and the service was second to none! The health spa and gym was really well equipped and very well managed. The indoor pool was a decent size and the beds were very comfortable and the steam room is worth a visit, the best I have ever visited! We had a 3 night stay and all of it was perfect! I would definitely recommend this hotel for its comfort and service. Overall it was perfect in every way!

Very friendly welcome from Susan who gave us plenty of ideas of places to visit. We stayed in room 56 overlooking the back as we are not bothered about balconies and sea views as we walked the bay daily on our four day stay. The room was clean, large and warm with the most comfortable bed/bedding we have ever had away from home. The ensuite with luxury toiletries was a lovely touch (converted us to the product). We note other reviewers found the rooms noisy, we didn't find this and I am a very light sleeper. The fruit, water and tea with lovely biscuits was most welcome. ALL staff (reception, restaurant, housekeepers including the little girl who turned back the bed) were most professional but also very friendly. We had delicious meals and loved the dear gentleman who played the piano at dinner. If visiting Jersey again we would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you can afford sea views go for it but, don't be put off if all you can afford overlooks the...

'HM the Wife' and I have just returned from a 4 day stay at the St Brelades Bay Hotel (extended by a day due to the snow). The hotel is located in St Brelades Bay in the south west of Jersey about a 10 minute drive from the airport. The location is fantastic with easy access, car park and on the local bus route. It is listed as a 4* and in our view, easily meets the standards.

The key points for us were:

Friendly helpful staff that were professional at all times. In particular we both enjoyed the service provided by the restaurant staff.

Our room was clean, well appointed and had the nice touches, fruit and water etc. 'HM the Wife was particularly impressed with the L'Occitaine lotions and other bathroom items.

The public rooms were spotless, well furnished and comfortable. The ceiling in the bar area appealed to my eye as did the oak panelling and other touches throughout. Sadly the gardens were under about 10 inches of snow for half our stay so we didn't get to see them in any detail.

The food was superb with a good range of menu items that was well presented and served and in our view represented very good value for money.

The gym and pool facilities are excellent.

Retrospectively I note the comments made by others about the room being hot, as was the room we had - initially. I turned off the heater, opened the windows a tad and put the heater back on when it got a bit chilly whilst the blizzards were blowing and never really gave it a thought after that (luck or judgement?).

Overall we both very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a standard room that is located on the top floor gable end. If you ignore the car park you c...

Everything was perfect - bedroom- large, clean, individual, amenities- fruit, water, bathrobes, health club- clean, warm, dinner- traditional, friendly, view- St Brelades Bay, and the sound - the sea through open bedroom windows. The room was very hot all night and we could not get the temperature low enough - we would have opened the windows anyway
As a frequent visitor to Jersey's hotels and restaurants, I will certainly be back
I only have two negative comments:
Fried bread for breakfast had been fried in oil (heavily) not butter and it was inedible
Entering the health club - only for a swim - had to complete a full health disclosure - somewhat unecessary even in these days of escessive H&S ?

Room Tip: The best you can - you won't be disappointed

My husband and I stayed here on Friday 8th march. We checked in at about 2pm by extremely nice and helpful staff. The room was very nice, we had a sea view, fruit and water in the rooms, but it was HOT, the only way to cool down the room was to open the patio door....then it chilled down too quickly.... We went down for a cocktail before dinner, which to be honest, was very AVERAGE, and the price of the champagne cocktails were more expensive than the Dorchester in London!!.. Dinner was very good, the service was EXEPTIONAL, very nice, attentive, professional old fashioned service....a very rare thing these days. We went back to the room, there had been a turn down service, very nice, but the room was boiling, we had to open the door again, there was a little window above the door, which my husband opened, which we kept open all night, but for me, the most disappointing thing was, the quality of the bedding, and bed linen, it was of a vet poor, cheap quality, what a let down....premier inns have better.....if the hotel sorts out these LITTLE niggles, it would be a SUPERB hotel, and could actually be the best on the island.

Room Tip: Choose a room with air con
