This is a review in 2 parts...one being the day they bothered to serve us, and the next being the day they simply could not be bothered.
Review # 1
The Crab Shack is in a lovely spot with wonderful sea views but this also brings one disadvantage; it gets VERY busy. We ate there early on in our stay in Jersey and enjoyed tasty, fresh food served with a smile. Service between courses was a little slow, but they were very busy and we were in no hurry. The starter of mussles was delicious, fresh and tasty. We then ate lovely scallops, squid (which could have done with a lighter batter) and a children's meal of fishcakes with chips. We opted against a desert as the slow service meant we had been in there long enough and were finally missing our time on the beach!

We returned a couple of days later. What a contrast! We were seated at a table "at the back near the toilets". That is honestly what they said! We were then ignored for a full 15 minutes, despite our best efforts trying to attrach the attention of the staff. We were never even handed a menu!
This is not a cheap option for lunch (but prices should not really matter when it comes to good service). We found our second visit to be embarassing, having never walked out of anywhere without ordering before. Our custom was clearly not valued by this restaurant, who seem to work with a tiny number of serving staff no matter if it is busy or not.
Instead we walked down the bay towards the hotels and ate on the sea front at an alternative, hotel based restaurant for a fraction of the price and far better service.
Would we return? Sadly, never.
