“Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My husband and I celebrated my 40th birthday with a night at The Atlantic. It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The team were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere of the hotel was so relaxed and charming. A night felt like a week away!

The food at dinner was absolutely delicious, a treat to taste and breakfast the following morning was fit for a king.

We will be back!

Just back from a break with family and could not fault this hotel. The staff were friendly, attentive and provided first class customer service - always going the extra mile to ensure our stay was extra special. The rooms were spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable with complimentary up-market soaps, tea and coffee making facilities and wi-fi, From the rooms you get a magnificent view of the bay so you can watch the tides and wonderful sunsets. Breakfast is a leisurely delight so make sure you take advantage of the choice. I used the indoor pool most days and although not huge it was very quiet so I felt like I was using my own private pool. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely, but don't tell everyone as I would like to save a little bit of heaven for my next visit!

Room Tip: Spend the extra and get an Ocean View room

If you want to treat yourself to something special stay at the Atlantic Hotel. I have heard lots of good things about this place but you need to experience it first hand to understand why it is so highly rated.

My stay, with my wife, was a birthday treat. We were blown away by the professionalism of all the staff and their friendliness. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Garden Suite which I would highly recommend. The view was beautiful and we watched Sunset before going for dinner.

Dinner was beautiful. Mark Jordan is the executive chef of the Ocean Restaurant and the food was out of this world and very deserving of its Michelin star. We had a window table and watched the last light of the day slip away while we dined.

Breakfast room service was excellent and rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

This is a truly special place. The location is amazing but the staff make the hotel what it is.

Don't think about it - book it.

Darren Kelland

Room Tip: Has be to be a Garden Suite.

On driving in, the Hotel and grounds present a pleasant, neat, just-tended impression. The friendly and efficient check-in was welcome and our room did indeed afford us a delightful Ocean View. No outside traffic noises - just the breaking waves.
But the real 'pearl' lay in the Ocean Restaurant. It was clear to see how they had earned
their Michelin star. Mark's culinary masterpieces and Martinho's restaurant management made the stay for us. Cant wait to go back.

We got married in this hotel so it will always be special to me. The service remains excellent but at £460 a night (suite) the TVs were fuzzy (bad reception maybe) and the sheets had been washed maybe 10000 times, they were bobbly and not too comfortable. Also there is peeling paint an the shower wouldn't drain properly. The views in my book are worth the money (out of this world) but our meal was a little disappointing, it looked very nice but for me the flavours and textures weren't quite right. We will be back but only when a room upgrade has taken place and slightly less expensive!

Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend. On arrival I was offered a free upgrade to an ocean view room which was a nice surprise. The room was very well appointed, tastefully decorated and spacious with ample storage space for hanging clothes etc. There was a very large king sized bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom was well lite with a great shower and bath combined. The ocean view was great too.

I did not dine at the hotel but did have breakfast on each morning. There is a good variety of both cooked and buffet styles and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only slight nag was that my cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning took 30mins to arrive and it was quite tepid.

The hotel is set in ample grounds and it's well worth having a walk around for more ocean views. All-in-all a great stay and would have no hestiation in returning.

Room Tip: Go for an ocean view room and watch the sun set !

We stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our wedding annversary. We booked a sea view room on a half board basis which included a small hire car and we paid for three nights getting the 4th free but this promotion was not available on line and had to be booked direct with the hotel.
On arrival at the hotel the receptionist knew our name as the hire company had rung ahead. This was very nice and she proceeded to give us a tour of the hotel and explained the facilities in the room. Every body called us by our name, nothing was too much trouble, the Michelin starred restaurant where we eat all our meals was superb in all respects. The fitness centre and pool were more than adequate. We will return here, probably for the christmas break. We can not praise the hotel enough even if the island itself is starting to look a little tacky and the shops are certainly not what they were.

Room Tip: Book the escapes package which includes dinner in the Michelin Star restaurant
