“A big thank you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

I have just come back from a lovely stay at The Beau Rivage Hotel.

I have been to Jersey many times before and have stayed at several different places around the island, but nothing can beat staying right on St Brelades Bay. If you like the beach and go on holiday to escape city life, then this may well be the place for you. And, the Beau Rivage really is right on the seafront with splendid views and huge windows onto the bay if you book a sea view apartment.

The apartment I spent a week in was clean with a modern fitted kitchen, functional bathroom, comfy living room and spacious bedroom. I was extremely pleased with the accommodation.
If you don’t have a car, there is a bus stop right near the apartments which means you can easily get around, although I would avoid spending time in St Helier as there really isn’t much to see.

As these apartments are self catering, I would assume most people won’t spend money on eating out, but if you want to eat out, there are plenty of lovely cafés and restaurants on the seafront at St Brelades itself.

As for food shopping, there is an M&S and Waitrose at Red Houses, only a short drive/bus ride away. You can also walk there– takes about 25 mins each way. Shopping was therefore not a chore even without transport.

If you like the freedom of self catering, then Beau Rivage is an excellent choice for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. If you’re like me and just want to relax on the beach, then this is the perfect location. Why travel to the beach when you can wake up to it! I don’t have children, but I would have thought these apartments are ideal for families as you are right on a safe, clean and sandy beach with excellent facilities.

The staff are wonderful too.

A big thank you to the staff and management of Beau Rivage and to the Jersey sun for shining. I had such a relaxing stay. I now have very bad holiday blues.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra, then splash out on a sea view. I had never really been bothered about h...

We have just returned after spending several days at Beau Rivage. We stayed in a self catering suite on the first floor directly above the bar and bistro. The suite was lovely. Very spacious with two balconies overlooking the lovley beach at St Brelade. The kitchen area was very well equipped and had everything we needed. The bathroom was a little dated but very clean as was the whole suite.
The views of the bay were breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Locally there is a Waitrose, M&S and Co-op for food shopping.
We had our car with us and found the allocated parking for Beau Rivage very useful. It is a small car park but we did not have any trouble getting a space. There is also a public car park next door which is free between 5pm-8am.
The only fault we could find with Beau Rivage was the noise at night time coming up from the bar below. This went on until about 1.15am every night we stayed and despite the double glazed windows it did keep us awake.

Room Tip: Don't have a room directly above the noisy bar!

Lovely lady running this place - she does not take her eye off the ball. Looks after guests as if they are her own chickens, plus (this might not please other people - did not bother me) has other functions going on (to me they were the entertainment and made it liverly than it would have been) XXX Accommodation impecible, staff brilliant.

We stayed in the St.Peter Suite - top floor. No balcony but still a glorious sea view, good spacious rooms, and a proper little kitchen rather than 'kitchenette'. The sofa bed in the living room wouldn't have been brilliant for 2 adults but was fine for our 1 child.
Location is perfect - right on the beach with no road to cross, plenty of different eating places along the promenade (hotel restaurant menu was a bit limited) and a bunch of shops up the hill in Red Houses. The Jambo chinese restaurant was particularly good.
It's a great jumping off point for the rest of the island, too, as it is right on the frequent bus routes to St Helier and other attractions.
All the staff from Reception, the bar and housekeeping were charming, friendly and helpful.

Have recently returned from the Beau Rivage with my husband and two children aged 3 and 5. We have stayed many times in St Helier before having kids, but wanted a nice sandy beach for the kids. Well we have now found the place we will always stay when in Jersey. The Beau Rivage is literally right on the beach and has everything you could need. Our apartment was St Clements Suite, and had a fantastic sea view from massive picture windows. There are two large bedrooms and another room housing the lounge area, tv/dvd and kitchen, which has a full size fridge freezer and full oven/hob and a dishwasher as well as microwave etc..worth a mention (and a small thing, but important!) there is a proper hairdryer!! There is also a laundry and ironing room in the building. The outside bar area is steps from beach/promenade and there is a lovely conservatory. Christine and her staff were so friendly and its very family orientated. M&S is a 5 min drive away for SC people. Thank you Beau Rivage - we will be back!!

Throughout our stay, Christine and her team were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in St Saviour's suite and were very impressed. There were 2 balconies with fantastic views of the sea. We enjoyed going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the sea. The children aged 8 had their own room with en suite shower room and toilet. They also had a flat screen tv much to their delight! We had our own room and separate bathroom. The living room and kitchen were a good size and well equipped for self catering. We self catered but ate downstairs at the hotel restaurant on the last night. The food was delicious, the restaurant staff welcoming and again the sea view superb.
Location is great for the beach and a short journey by car/bus to anywhere on the island. There is a M&S foodhall, co-op and newly opened Waitrose within 5mins drive if you're self catering.
The soft sandy beach is literally on your doorstep and was not overcrowded at this time of year. We'll be back soon...

Initially our visits to the hotel were seasonal (closed in winter). After changing to apartments however, they have become more frequent since the rooms are now open throughout the year. In the winter months the bar and bistro are normally closed, so guests must fend for themselves, which is no trouble at all . At this time of year it really is a perfect winter getaway.
In season, the food, friendliness and cleanliness of the Beau Rivage earn full marks from us.Christine, Eddie, Hans and staff cannot do enough for you,but for a truely independent view, just try the views at the Beau Rivage yourself.
