“A Great Stop on a Hilly Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

We broke up a seven-mile walk with lunch at the Inn and were well fortified for the rest of the walk. There were six of us, and we sampled the full menu. Everything was good, from soup to dessert.

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

Been going for many years now its overpriced and the atmosphere has gone. The staff were not interested in serving us and it just felt un welcoming. The toilets were not clean and had to point out to the staff they had not been checked since the day before

“Return to an old favourite.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

We have visited this Inn many times over the years starting in 1976 when the floral bar at the back had a nightly sing song to organ and drums and the coach parties used to visit on their way around the island!
Th pub has altered over the years, but what hasn't changed is the excellent food and value for money. I had a delicious home made burger, and my wife who is a small eater at lunchtime asked if she could have a prawn sandwich, which wasn't on the menu.No problem. Both were well presented and delicious.
The drinks are reasonable and the staff very pleasant-what more could you ask?

“Nice seafood with a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We had a mixed seafood platter here and were not disappointed all the food was cooked immaculately. The location is fantastic too just the ticket for working off the yummy lunch!

“Return Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We were in Jersey during the first week of October and decided to return to The Old Portelet Inn and try the Tennerfest again. We were again very impressed with the food and my selection of Starter - Chicken and Duck Terrine with spiced pear chutney and toasted rustic bread, Main Course - Chargrilled prime Rump Steak with grilled tomato, pepper sauce, salad and chips. Dessert - Apple and Blueberry Crumble all for £10 !!!
Excellent value and good service. We subsequently returned on 2 further evenings and enjoyed the varied Tennerfest menue.
We also had the roast of the day on one evening which again was excellent but at £10.95 is probably a bit pricey compared with the Tennerfest meal deal.
