We stayed at tinakilly for 4 nights with our 4 month old baby, we booked the night before we arrived as we had checked out of a different hotel early and unexpectedly.
They gave us suite 69, which was on the top floor (there is a lift) and it had great views over the Irish sea. The suite was clean and large with a few nice pieces of antique furniture, and the en suite had a bath and separate shower. Both rooms were plenty big enough for our "baby everything but the kitchen sink" equipment, the travel cot was out of the way and her changing mat sat nicely under the sink unit meaning we didn't have to squeeze behind a door to change her!
The service was impeccable, they rung the day of arrival to ask if we needed anything special for the baby, and everyone we met was pleasant and very helpful. Everyone welcomed the baby, and we're happy for us to have our (clean wheeled) buggy in the bar/restaurant in the evenings. One of the receptionists even looked after our little one for a few minutes while we unpacked the car, and they were so friendly I was more than happy to do this, even as an overprotective mum! We had an early check out at 6am, and the night porter had tea and toast with fruit salad arranged for us before we left.
The food in the restaurant was top quality, granted the early bird menu is slightly limited on choice, however we felt the a la carte menu was fairly priced, and everything we ate was delicious. This is the kind of establishment that gives you a complimentary amuse bouche, a selection of bread to choose from and the encouragement to enjoy a full evening of dining, not a rushed impersonal service. Again the service was brilliant, and became better and better as we got to know the staff.
Yes there are a couple of slightly sterner staff members (who may be management, not sure) who had less smiles and a less personable service who I felt slightly frowned upon our little one being in the restaurant, but they didn't say anything, however also didn't say hello which they did to other diners. This is literally the only tiny nit pick I can think of with this hotel.
Otherwise it is overall the best hotel I have stayed in, including 5* establishments elsewhere in the world, I am thankful for the crappy hotel we stayed in before, as had we not had to check out of there I wouldn't have found tinakilly, and we will definitely be returning!
