Avoid the 'new' wing like the plague as it certainly detracts from the ambiance of staying at a 'country house'.
You may find peace and quiet here but the room decor, mattresses and lack of basic bathroom amenities will certainly give you the blues. How these rooms qualified for acceptance by the Small Leading Hotels of the world is beyond me!
Food - well perhaps we were unlucky.
Staff are friendly and they do try. However, to date management do not appear to take any notice of customer feedback.
After staying, I would have to say that the overwhelming feeling is one of receiving very poor value for money. If you insist on staying make sure you get a room in the 'old' part of the house. Otherwise my advice would be to spend your Euro elsewhere.
