Stayed 1 night at end of June. Weather was fab so house and gardens were at their best. What a setting! Would have loved to have the time to play with the Croquet Set. Our room (the Garden Room - they all have names not numbers) was wonderful, spacious and luxurious with a capacious en suite (massive bath in middle of room).
Minor peeves include the 'old tech' TV and a couple of pieces of modern furniture which seemed out of place.
We spent a couple of very pleasant hours sitting in the Drawing Room in front of the turf fire chatting with other guests.
Breakfast was very good especially the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
For a real 'get away from it all' location it would be hard to beat.
