The absolute highlight of our recent B&B holiday in Ireland was our stay at Rowanville Lodge. It was perfect in every way. The setting is wonderful with a fabulous dining room view of Ben Bulben, a closeby landmark mountain that beckons to climbers and hikers. The breakfasts were huge, delicious, and so enjoyable to eat gazing at that amazing view. Our rooms were attractively furnished with comfortable beds (husband is fussy about that) and very nice private bathrooms.

The very friendly and industrious owner Pat is constantly busy keeping things just right, but she'll never hesitate to stop and help you with any travel needs or just to chat. There are numerous repeat visitors here..always a good sign.. The walk to the closeby beach passes down a country lane where farmers and their families working in the fields are quick to stop and chat and get to know you. If you fancy dogs the lodge's resident pair, laid back Bob and busy, busy Ruby will enthusiastically lead you to the beach to cavort, fetch sticks, wade, and just admire the view of sea, distant castles and closeby curious cattle.

We sadly missed the acclaimed fishing, but had a glorious horseback ride galloping along an endless sandy beach, something one can't do at American stables. Nearby restaurants had excellent menus, particularly the owner's and our favorite Yeats tavern. Superb fresh fish dishes. We can't wait to return to Rowanville next year and become regular visitors.

This B&B is located in the north-west of Ireland, with beautiful views of the mountain, Ben Bulben, from the breakfast room. With a new extension on the house, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The family are welcoming and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. The surrounding areas are also beautiful, with lovely sandy beaches close by. Horse riding was organised by the owner in stables close by. We spent the day trekking the beaches, really amazing. Nice restaurants in the area also. Great for a weekend break.

Just north of Grange on the N15 is Rowanville B&B. The white house has a nice carpark the fron tof the property. Rooms in the back look out onto a farm with cows and sheep. The rooms have cable tv, room temp is very comforatble. The room and the bath were clean. The bath was newer.

Patricia was very nice. She served the typical breakfast between 8 and 10am and asked that guests depart by 11am so she can prepare for room for the next set of guests. The breakfast room looksto Benbulben.

Location is great for touring Sligo - Drumcliff just a few minutes down the road. Close to Carrowmore, Parke's House, Glen car waterfall. Good Indian food down the street at Monsoon.
