“Relaxing get away.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Stayed in the Castle twice now, different rooms each time. They are all different so its great to experience them all.
You really do experience a proper castle experience - there's no TV's in the rooms (which is fantastic i think), there's no showers (not sure if this is all of them, but in the two i stayed, there was none. But there's shower rooms on each floor, although you need to be on the shorter side to use them, i was banging my head off teh shower head and i'm not overly tall 5'9). The beds are amazingly comfy, you never want to leave them! Rooms are great as decorated so different. We were in the Chinese Room (1st floor) the second time we stayed and it was noisey with the old water pipes and then cars coming up the drive to the reception. Ear plugs are great. The previous room was quietier and funnyily enough it was called the Calm Room on lower ground floor, it had a jacuzzi bath (which didnt work, we told recep at the time). Breakfast was great the 1st time but went abit downhill the second time we were there in April. It was still a fab breakfast but the selection wasn't as good. We also had afternoon tea, it was fun and delicious. Teh walks aroudn teh castle are fantastic, its very tranquil and relaxing, not alot of ppl around. I don't hink i wuold like it as much if there was a wedding on.
We used the cinema room one night and had it all to ourselves!
We've used the Spa a few times in Castle Leslie, loved it everytime.
We're planning to go back before the end of the year again, going to try a different room and ask for a lake view, they would be at the back and hopefully abit more quiet.
Staff are great, Eoin was so nice. Reception and waitress are great.

Room Tip: Any room is good as thy're all different.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights in the Castle last March.
We stayed in the Blue room, which we had already stayed in on a previous occasion when our daughter was getting married.
My wife availed of the Spa which she enjoyed very much.
Breakfast in the Castle is a great experience altogether.
We had lunch in Conor's Bar and dinner in Snaffles restaurant each day.The 6 course dinner is top quality.
Accomodation in the Lodge is also top quality and would recommend it if you wish to reduce your costs a little.
There are other accomodation options as well, which we would also recommend for consideration.
We wish continued success to the General Manager, Brian Baldwin and staff at Castle Leslie Estate.

Room Tip: Each of the rooms in the Castle is completely different. Not many have showers

This place is a slice of heaven, the castle is simply amazing. If you're looking for relaxation with no mod cons or television there is no place better. The afternoon tea served overlooking the lawn is fantastic.

I have only wonderful thoughts of my stay at Castle Leslie, it is a large slice of pure heaven.............
Rooms in the lodge were cosy and comfortable with all the services your heart desires.
Staff all friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble for them and all topped off with a smile.

Food in the bar was good in a warm fun atmosphere and as for Snaffles it was outstanding , the 6 course meal was a pure delight of the taste buds.......a must for any visit

The grounds and walks were a joy and to top it off a few drinks in the castle bar, full of family history and with views fit for a king !!!!

Lots to do at castle Leslie so have a look at their web site.............

Value for money is also on the menu, this is a hotel that has it all and in the right measure.....I will be back for sure .......

Thanks to all at the hotel, job very well done indeed

Room Tip: I loved the lodge rooms, mine was called Flash.........simply wonderful

Stayed here with my girlfriend in May as part of a Groupon Deal. We stayed in the castle as opposed to the lodge. We stayed in Shane's room which is a must with its big bath. Castle is old fashioned and there are no kids usually in residence. With 20 rooms you are never in need for a seat at the breakfast table which is served until 11. The little bar in the castle allows drinks to be taken in the vast library for complete relaxation. Beautiful walks and herself went on the cross country course on one of their horses. The lodge is nice for a bigger bar and you have dinner there. Lovely food if the menu was somewhat limited. Couldn't complain as the waiter we had was brilliant. All in all castle Leslie is worth the experience worthy of Lord Grantham himself.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Stayed at the Lodge at Castle Leslie as part of a horse sport package in April/May 2014 for 5 days.
The rooms are all named after horses, so much easier to remember than a number! I had room Prince and this was really big. It had a 3 seater settee and 2 armchairs and a table in there and still had lots of room! Although this didn't look over the stable yard it was a corner room and very quiet.
The ensuite was roomy too - with a roll top bath and separate walk in shower with a big shower head and separate hand held shower if needed.
Also had a bathrobe and slippers to use, which was very handy.
Also the added bonus of the bed being turned down each evening for you.

There is a spa here and had a back massage for 30 mins. and can recommend this!

Breakfast is taken in Snaffles Restaurant and there is a good choice of cooked items or buffet breakfast items and juices/water,

There is also Conor's Bar on the ground floor and also a good choice of menu and a special each day.
Only criticism of the menu is that it was the same each day and although a good choice, was fairly limited after 5 days. But the food was wonderful, didn't have anything bad at all.
There is a small courtyard with cast iron tables and chairs outside the bar area which is nice to sit in when the weather is nice.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Also a very handy automatic door to get into and out of reception, very useful when you have luggage with you. There is a lift available but only used this to get the cases upstairs.

A great idea is the 'Boot Room' on the ground floor. There are various sizes of wellington boot available to guests to be used if you wish to take advantage of the many walks around the estate. There is a sink to wash them off afterwards.

If staying on the riding packages, there is a staircase down another level that leads directly to the stable yard, so very easy access, also a toilet by the door too if required.

Would reecommend you walk over to the Castle itelf as well, You are free to wander around the ground floor rooms, and we had a drink in the bar one night too.
Can highly recommend this hotel!!

Room Tip: The rooms on the ground floor are newer but not as big as Prince Room, alhtough perfectly adequate

Was bridesmaid here for family wedding, my family rented the houses in the grounds for a few days before which were lovely, clean and a home from home. 5* for the rented hones.
Other family members stayed in the lodge, which were more modern, tv, modern decor and looked gorgeous 5*
However we stayed in the actual castle, due to the period building it is incredible history wise, however we found it not as functional due to old showers baths and spooky scary decor. Which I'm sure so e would love but was a bit scary. For €290 a night it just wasn't worth it in comparison to the lodge.
Staff could not do enough for you and are highly professional breakfast was lovely. Views second to none

Room Tip: Castle was a bit scary.. Lodge more functional and modern
