“Great Pizza in a Quaint setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

Great little hole in the wall place for a light bite. We had pizzas and they were very good. Spent a lovely evening in the back courtyard. Dad and Son did a great job with our dinner!

“Hidden Gem”

Just back from an excellent evening spent in the cottage sharing the delicious pizzas with family. The atmosphere is second to none. The epitome of fun informal dining.

“Old Irish Charm & Romance - Ambledown Tea Rooms & Pizza Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2011

We found Glaslough as we had decided to take a trip to Castle Leslie. However, it wasn't Castle Leslie but rather the Ambledown Cottages we fell in love with. Just outslide Castle Leslie gates, hidden down the gentle slope, you will find these beautiful romantic cottages, and the corner home is certainly worth a stop.

It's an Antique Shop & Tea Rooms by day and phases into an Antique Shop and Pizza Restaurant by night. We arrived approx 7pm, walked in on spec and ended up staying. The small rooms become relaxing havens like an old Irish countryside home. We shared a table and discussed the intricacies of village living with the local photographer and his wife and thoroughly enjoyed the company of Jeremy, the cottage owner who made everyone feel right at home.

We loved it so much, we rented the cottage next door for a night (thanks to Jeremy's suggestion) and stayed to enjoy the company until well into the evening, followed by a few beers at the local bar. It truly was a warm and memorable experience in a unique village which I'm delighted to say still retains its Old Irish Country Charm.
