“Best Indian food I've ever had!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

My fiancé and I ate there last night because we're staying in the local pilo hotel. It definitely deserves five out of five for both atmosphere and service! The interior is really tastefully decorated and inviting and the staff were very pleasant and courteous. We loved both of our respective starters, my chicken thighs were just incredible! Both mains were also excellent and we shared the mixed sorbet for dessert. I was apprehensive about the sorbet because, so often,Indian restaurants tend to use cheap pre-made stuff but it was clearly made in-house and tasted amazing, a perfect way to end our meal. I should also mention the peshwari naan, I love naan bread and this was better than any I've ever had before. All in all a very enjoyable dining experience for a reasonable price, I can see myself coming back even if I'm not staying in Ashbourne!

“Good food and a lovely atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

Had wanted to have a meal here since me and my boyfriend moved to Ashbourne a few months ago and wasn't disappointed the first time we went. Lovely atmosphere and a relaxed service which we both liked. We had the early bird which was great value and loads of food. Really tasty and even my boyfriend, who is not a fan of indian food really enjoyed it. We went during the week, so it was very quiet so obviously no problems with the service, although there was a longer than normal wait between courses. Will definitely be returning

“Good Fusion Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Went over on Friday last , with my Family total of four people, Food was very good fusion not over powering but with a lovely taste on each item we had that we shared, staff were excellent and service was very good, over all a very happy customer,

Ask for the special three course value meal about 20euro per person, they also have a very good deal for Sunday lunch at 10euro per person,
If you have any problems ask for Arish the owner who is on hand most nights to see that all is well

“Good food, excellent atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

I will start by saying that I completely disagree with previous reviews of the service here. People these days seem to be in too much of a hurry and when I go to a restaurant I do not like to feel I am being rushed to free a table. Here, we were able to browse through the menu and chat comfortably after having our drinks order taken straight away. Once the order was taken, we had no more than 3-4 minutes between courses and were served by two delightful, pleasant and helpful waitresses.
I felt the whole dining experience was perfectly paced and that a lot of other establishments these days could take lessons from the Cinnamon Garden.
However, whilst the rest of the food was superb, and my "Chicken Tak a Tak" was amazing, my wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was in fact what seemed no more than chicken in tomato soup. There were no trace of herbs, spices or seasonings. I know that this dish should be mild, but this was just a bland and lazy effort. Suprising, considering the quality of everything else we were served.
All in all we were impressed and would definitely go back, we would just avoid the Tikka Masala next time!!
