“Terrific host”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Maurice was simply an extraordinary host. Very friendly, he carried your bags, served your tea, made your breakfast and all the while provided a running dialogue about everything local. His place overlooks the harbor and has excellent views of the surrounding mountains. If you plan to visit coastal Ireland, make Roundstone and the Island View one of your stops.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front overlook the harbor.

We went there at the end of september, was fully booked, but we havent heard any noise. We were so delighted with the stay. Friendly and helpful owner, lovely, cosy rooms, very tasty breakfast. I will be delighted to come back there in a future.

Room Tip: we had a lovely room with a bay view

I booked this B&B for my parents and they were delighted with the stay. Great location close to bars, restuarant etc. Amazing views but most of all the fantastic welcome received.
They were given options as to which room they would prefer and then provided with tea and scones. They really enjoyed their stay.

Room Tip: Ask to get one in the front with the view

My sister and I recently stayed at the Islandview on a 2 week tour of the north coast of Ireland. I had never stayed in a B&B before and was unsure of what to expect. I was most assuredly not disappointed. Maurice was amazing. Certainly a multi-tasking man. He did not skip a beat as he served his guests an excellent breakfast, all the while sharing his vast knowledge of the area. He was very free with his time and made you very welcome. Our room was lovely..clean and nicely appointed. I would not hesitate to recommend this stay to anyone passing through. Thank you Maurice for such an excellent introduction to B&Bs.

Stayed in islandview for 1 week 7th sept. This b/b is owned and run by maurice and aisling. It is a warm, comfy, welcoming retreat that offers a true irish hospitality. Maurice is such a lovely person eho goes that extra mile for his customers. A breakfast each morning that was better than any 4 or 5 star hotel was provided. Delicious, flavoursome produce, perfectly cooked. The room was spotless and very comfortable with a beautiful seaview. Tea/coffee facilities and an iron are provided in the room. This is a wonderful gem of a guest ouse in a most scenic village. I will be back. Thankyou maurice and aisling for your kind genuine hospitility.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor with seaview.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Have just returned from 3 nights in Roundstone. Haven't stayed in a B & B in over 20 years and wasn't sure what to expect. Well my fears were totally unfounded as Maurice made us feel very welcome & we had a very enjoyable stay. The room was great - at the back overlooking the mountain so very quiet. The ensuite was very clean but the shower cubicle was standard & a bit of a tight squeeze if you are on the large side. Also the water pressure was a bit low. The breakfast was excellent and there was a very good choice. Would have been better if there was a choice of juice as I don't drink orange juice. Would highly recommend & hope to return again.

We stayed here for one night and it was perfect. Our room was very clean and quiet. We had a room that looked out over the sea. It was very nice. Maurice was very welcoming and we enjoyed talking to him. Our breakfast was delicious. All in all, we had a great stay here.

Room Tip: We had the room looking out on the sea- very pretty!
