“Nice B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

This is an attractive looking B&B only five minute’s walk from the harbour and almost next door to a lively pub with good food. The B&B is clean and comfortable with modernly decorated rooms. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful without being over-bearing. The ensuite was a decent size with an electric shower which was great and there was hot water on the two evenings that we stayed. The room was a bit cold on the first evening as it was a damp, miserable day but the heating did come on. I agree with other comments about the towels. They are not old, in fact I would say, they are very new, but not absorbent so that might need to be looked at. The hair dryer also shut off every time I tried to use it so that could do with replacing. Breakfast was good quality with delicious home-made bread, though the choice of cereals was a little limited. However, the owner was very attentive and made sure we had enough of everything. Overall, a comfortable B&B in a great location. I would recommend it and would stay here again.

Room small but ok, just a little tired. Host friendly enough but lax on issues - hairdryer didn't work, bacon was cooked more than once (way overdone and very tough), repeatedly slow to answer emails when they answered them at all, and fibbed on how close they are to the ferry (they say 5 minutes - try 10 without luggage and failed to mention roads are partially gravel uphill so wheeled luggage a no-go). Take a horse drawn cart to the B&B - 5 euros well spent.

Very basic accommodation, and my was it cold - the heating simply didn't work! Very close to a very nice restaurant though, and breakfast was welcoming and tasty. Can't get my head around how cold we were though!

We wheeled our suitcases up to Clai Ban sans reservation & were welcomed and were shown to room 1. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, great location. The bathroom was everything you need. We wandered over two driveways to Tigh Joe Watty's for dinner & music. Inishmore is absolutely lovely in April & we felt like we had it to ourselves. Truly the highlight of our trip.

Room Tip: We had room 1. It looked out over the front of the B&B which gave one a bit less privacy during...

We stayed here for a Saturday night in April...the host Bartley and his dog Guinness made us feel very welcome. Room 3 was very spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was large, only issue was it had a bath, no shower. Breakfast was lovely the next morning. Bartley's sons play in a band, well worth seeing; they play a mixture of trad and rock, but also mix the two ie Kings of Leon played on the box accordian :) Would stay here again.

It has big potential but need serious improvements on some aspects:
- the room are Okeish, a bit small but livable, new boiler are needed, the one we had was way too dirty.
- bathroom is Okeish as well, towels need to be renewed, they do not absorb at all.
- the house it's cold, I know it's a b&b but if i need to stay in the room in the afternoon I don't deserve to be freezing.
- breakfast is fine, nothing special but good enough.
- the place is not dirty but doesn't shine either, people have different standard but I cannot imagine how some reviews said it is perfectly clean: it says a lot about your expectation...

On the plus side: the dog is the image of niceness, the owner is 'truly Irish' and the house is in a very nice spot at a walking distance from everything.

Really with a bit if work this can be one of the best b&b in inishmore, I'll check the review in few months to see what happens.

Ticks all the boxes for a very good B&B. A short walk (5 mins) from the pier leads to a hearty welcome from your hosts. The bedroom was perfect for what we wanted, very comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower. The breakfast is very tasty nad sets you up for the day. Tí Joe Watty (pub with good food and music) is right around the corner and great for relaxing after a day exploring the island. We booked as part of an offer through the ferry company Island Ferries.
