“One night stay but wish it could have been longer.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We booked one night on Friday 6th. June. We have stayed here before but not since it was re-built following fire damage. We requested a twin room and were amazed at the quality of the furniture and fittings. Our room had a double and a single bed along with a comfortable sofa and a table and chairs. I don,t know if this was an upgrade but if not it was fantastic value. The bathroom had a full size bath and separate shower, not usually found in a hotel in this price bracket.
Unfortunately we could only stay one night but wished it could have been longer. There are good rail and bus links for those without a car making it an ideal base to explore Dublin and its surroundings.Close to Dublin Airport..

Room Tip: Book a twin. You might be pleasantly surprised

We recently stayed for 3 nights B&B & 1D in conjunction with Supervalu Getaway Breaks.
Our room was spacious, clean and tidy but somewhat short of the 4* quality by which the hotel
is rated. Complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities were supplied to the bare minimum in fact probably for one person.
The restaurant was not open from Tuesday until Friday for evening meals but the Bracken Grill
Menu of sorts was offered to guests in the bar.Although the choice is limited more care could be taken with cooking and quality. Both the Pork chop joint and Sirloin steak( for which there is a 5 Euro extra charge) were not butchered ,cooked nor presented to the standard of a 4* hotel.
Vegetables were unsympathetic and under cooked.
Breakfasts are presented reasonably well on the continental style selection but cooked breakfasts are lacking in freshness and quality. Eggs are cooked to order but everything else is precooked and left to dry out over hot plates. Certainly not worth 13.95 Euro if you walked in off the street.
Overall we got the impression that this establishment operates "a take it or leave it" policy.

Dear oisinCo_Mayo,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at the Bracken Court Hotel. I'm glad to hear you found you room to your satisfaction. I am very disappointed to hear you were not happy with your meal in the restaurant. We pride ourselves in the quality of our product and our reviews on Tripadvisor are a reflection of the usual high standards and guest satisfaction we achieve. However it is clear that on this occasion with did not meet our usual high standards and for this I can only apologize. I have addressed the issue with the Head Chef and he will be taking correction action to ensure issues such as yours do not occur again.

If you would like to discuss your stay in more detail, please contact me at rorykeogh@brackencourt.ie

Once again thank you for taking the time to review, I am grateful for your feedback as it is only through your feedback that we are able to improve our services & products which we are constantly try to do.

Warmest regards,

It's not something I do often as I despise staying in hotels. However the service myself and my family reviewed during our two night stay was excellent.

I admit I did have a small issue after the first night however the staff at reception listened fully, there was authentic empathy not the usual corporate passive rhetoric.

I was taken aback at how the outcome was initiated, thanks to the duty manager.

Thank you all.

Alan.

We stayed here for two nights as an anniversary surprise for my wife and we couldn't have been happier. We upgraded to a suite which was fantastic, the food was of a high standard and the service was superb.Balbriggin is a small town with a beautiful beach if you can get the weather which we did,the train station is only 5 minute walk away and will whisk you straight into Dublin where your choices are limitless. All in all a great weekend was had and would definitely recommend this hotel if you don't mind being a bit not of Dublin.Would we go back?In a heartbeat.

The hotel has lovely rooms and excellent staff. Smiling, gracious and helpful! Breakfast was good with many choices. While we did not have dinner there, their menu looked wonderful. If we are ever near Dublin again, this would be first choice.

We are just back from a Groupon 3 night stay in the Bracken Court Hotel Balbriggan. Without a doubt one of the friendliest and most pleasant hotel breaks we've had. Nothing bothered the staff who added to the happy experience of our stay and the food was of a very high quality. all round we would have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant break. Thanks to all for a really enjoyable stay

Stayed at the hotel for two nights midweek whilst visiting friends in the area. I'm fussy. The hotel is rough round the edges, not the finished article, but it doesn't claim to be. Needs some owner investment in my opinion. New carpets and more attention to maintenance. These things matter. Having said that I enjoyed my stay. No complaints in respect of staff who were excellent. A bit of fine tuning and this hotel could have potential.
