“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

Stayed over on Saturday night on a boards deals voucher. Only thing I was annoyed about was the room smelled of cigarettes when we arrived. Rest of the hotel was great, staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very clean and for the price we paid id recommend it. Just ask for a non smoking room.

Went here for bar food recently however we were shocked at the lack of staff working. One person was working and his duties included pulling pints, taking orders, serving food and clearing up. No dedicated waiter staff working. It took ages for us to draw the attention of the sole staff member working. Bar food menu is very average. We ended up leaving this place as it took so long to order our food. The place wasn't even that busy to be honest. Won't go back.

Booked this on a Bed deal so got it for a very good price which makes me hesitant to say anything negative.....but only fair to be honest. Arrived at about 6 pm so well after check in time, receptionist was lovely but extremely busy. Got checked in, went to our room to find it hadn't been made up since the last guests had left. Back to reception, given a bigger room but unfortunatley there was a really strong smell of smoke in the room so we decided to wait for a clean room. Once that was sorted everything was great. The restaurant food and service were of a high standard. There was a great spread at breakfast, even though we were quite late arriving for it.Not sure I'd return after the room mix up but wouldn't rule it out completely.

Great hospitality, and worth the money to stay here! Situated just outsided Dublin on the R132 going towards Belfast. Front reception was rather helpful, and couldn't do more for you. Provided great service, both within the hotel, and within the Tourist area.

Rooms were clean, and beds were so comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a cushion.

Cheaper to stay during the week, and if you don't take the breakfast.

Room Tip: Book on the internet to save money, and don't take the breakfast. Can save yourself at least 20...

a 75 minute delay in supplying bar food is not acceptable in today's market.. The staff on the ground wre rushed off their feet but management is either unable or unwilling to provide an acceptable staffing level.

Mix feeling for me. The first receptionist was borderline rude. She won't even look at our face. I think her face may crack if she smile! We went out for lunch and came back, as new receptionist was on duty and she was so friendly and lovely. It immediately put us a more positive spin. The room was nice, big and clean. My hubby pre-ordered chocholate to be delivered to the room. In the afternoon, we got a couple of knocks on the door and 4 pieces of choc delivered on a saucer. We paid for a box of choc! Anyway, breakfast was ok, dinner was ok. We did use the lobby to lounge which is lovely. There was live music in the bar until about 1 am in the morning. The town was run-down and nothing really to do... so we drove to the next town in Skerries...it's quite romantic setting on the balcony overlooking the harbour. Overall, we wanted somewhere close to drive and bit of relaxing during the weekend, we got that but nothing special about the hotel that would make me want to visit it again.
