“Exceptional breakfast, very small bathrooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2006

We stayed 2 nights and booked 2 double bedrooms 2 months in advance. Although the bedrooms were small but adequate with excellent beds and beautiful views, the 'bathroom' was a real let down. The shower was so small that my huband needed to place himself in diagonal to fit in and the power shower got just enough water out to rince yourself. What the type of experience you expect after a long day walking in the country side.
On the plus side, the breakfast was exceptional: do try the homemade crepe and apple juice.

Stayed at Fergus View in 2001 and upon a return trip in 2003 were very disappointed to find that the B&B was not yet scheduled to be open for the season. A call to Mary Kelliher the hostess found that she would indeed accomodate us in the newly remodeled "stable house". It was a treat and we look forward to returning again on our next trip.

Mary Kelleher is the consummate innkeeper. Immaculate and beautiful cozy home in a perfect location to explore the Burren area and County Clare in general. Lots of help in where to go and what to see. Mary made our dinner reservations for us each night and her suggestions were wonderful. Only an hour from Shannon Airport , perfect spot for first or last nights in Ireland. For us it was our last 2 nights and it was very sad to leave.

I stayed at Fergus View with my parents for one night earlier this month and was so pleased with our choice of B&B when Mary, the landlady, welcomed us in out of the rain with her lovely Irish hospitality and tea and cake. This was much appreciated after a long day of driving from Killarney, around the Ring of Kerry, and up to Corofin.

I was glad, when we phoned earlier in the day, that Mary had a family room available at short notice. We booked Fergus View after perusing The AA B&B Guide 2004. Fergus View is awarded a 3 red diamond rating in the AA Guide - the red diamonds recognise that this B&B is one of the very best establishments within its 3 diamond rating level.

The family room had 4 beds and was 35 euro per person per night (which was a comparable rate to another B&B in Ireland in which we stayed the previous night, and although that B&B was rated 4 diamonds, the hospitality was not as warm as at Fergus View). The bathroom at Fergus View is private but was small with a shower; the handbasin situated outside the bathroom in the bedroom. The house has a lovely country view.

The village of Corofin is only a short drive away and Mary offered a good recommendation for a pub for dinner. The next day we drove to the Cliffs of Moher which are reasonably close.

Mary's breakfast was a highlight, especially the homemade yoghurt and the local goats cheese on toast (for something different). She uses her own home-grown fruit and vegetables (such as the strawberries) to prepare the meals.

I would recommend Fergus View to people who most value a warm welcome when they stay at a B&B.
