We stay a lot in this hotel while visiting family and I've never had a bad stay. Food is excellent and staff are very friendly its a shame it doesn't have a swimming pool. The rooms are beautiful although I've stayed in a few that have rubbish views. At Easter they hide Easter eggs throughout the rooms for the kids which is wonderful and makes going there even more special for them.

We had a family celebration for our daughters baptism in the hotel today and as usual we received 5star treatment from James Kehoe and his dedicated, efficient and very friendly staff. We booked out 'the waterfront' to host the family gathering and I couldn't be any happier. Having gotten married in this hotel last summer I was certain that it would be perfect again and the whole experience lived up to expectation. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely day and even nicer food . Ciara & Don O'Connell

In the past I have grown to love the Bagenal but noticed a few things while we were there on Thursday evening? The ladies toilet needed to be cleaned, were very dirty, all 3 cubicles!! The high chairs are in very bad condition and could also do with a good scrub, they are sticky and disgusting to be honest?? Finally I was charged €1.50 for a baby bowl??? In this day and age a lot of bars and restaurants provide these free, in some instances kids eat free when a main meal is purchased? Just think its a bit mean on your behalf!!! We do however love your food, but hope to see an improvement when we return? Please clean the highchairs!!

This is a rather large ungainly hotel spread out of what would have been an old coaching inn or Pub, it looked as if it would be a real old fashioned type of hotel from the front then you come into the car park and wow, very modern hotel in front of you, very busy and full car park on a Sunday so we knew something was on, into reception and they could not find our booking, luckily I had our copy the receptionist was panicking bless her , so although the rooms were not ready we were heading in the right direction, reception asked if we could come back in an hours so we parked ourselves in the bar for a beer, it was Mad full, and we struggled to get a seat, then you could see why, they had on offer what was probably the biggest and best carvery in Ireland it was fantastic no wonder the place was buzzing, anyway an hour later our rooms were ready, we had booked a suite and a twin, both rooms were upgraded to suites and they were massive really well fitted out with nice furniture and bathrooms to die for.
Restaurant in the evening was busy but we had a great meal and great service I don't know how the waiters did it they were fantastic, some of the tables turned while we were in after 8pm it obviously has a great local reputation for food which is well founded, great breakfast next morning too.
We all had a really good nights sleep and a very comfortable stay, considering how busy the hotel was generally, and it had a very large wedding anniversary party which occupied the conference hall during the day and the waterfront restaurant in the evening they coped fantastically, it did not detract from our stay whatsoever the service was fantastic.
I really liked this place, can you tell ?
Turned out they had just started doing on-line bookings and ours had gone into the spam folder, all sorted now I hope

Room Tip: We had the Hugh De Lacy Suite (Double) and the Mile Kehoe (double + two singles) Both freat rooms

I recently stayed here for my best friends wedding. All the bridal party had suites which was a bonus, beautifull rooms with air con. The food and service were excellent. They really made the day run smoothly with no long delays between courses.. Very friendly staff and welcoming reception area., i Will definitely stay here again..

We traveled from Mayo to this hotel for a family wedding, in our error we arrived early for check-in without prior notification to the hotel & the receptionist could not have done more to accommodate us. She called the home-keeping staff & they got to work on our rooms...all 3 of them!! We were given complimentary tea's & coffee's while we waited which was only 20 minutes. The hotel itself is top notch the staff are super friendly. The bedrooms are first class & the food excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel & would highly recommend it to anyone.
