The Hilton Knoxville was a very comfortable high rise hotel in downtown Knoxville, TN. When I first got to the hotel, the valet service was very kind and efficient with getting my car. Despite arriving at about 10:00 P.M., there was a several minute line to check in, though the automated check in system had no line at all. The entire check in process was a little slow, but the staff was very kind.
Once I brought my bags up to my room (there was no bellhop on duty when I checked in or checked out), I had no trouble getting more than comfortable in the hotel's large, spacious, and nicely decorated rooms. The two queen beds in my newly renovated room had a pillow choice of four different pillows each with varying hardness/softness. There was a large HDTV in the room, however there were no HD channels available. My largest complaint about the rooms, however, was that they were extremely loud through out the night. Even very late in the night, I could hear voices from outside my room and even a lot of noises from the outside, even though my room was on the 18th floor. The sound made it very hard to get a good sleep.
For breakfast I went to the Market Cafe which had a good continental breakfast with a large selection of cereals, fruits, sausage, bacon, etc. An added bonus was that there was somebody who could make omelets and waffles, and you could also order pancakes, french toast, etc. through your waiter.
Overall, the Hilton Knoxville was a very compatible hotel with a friendly staff, nicely outfitted rooms, and many amenities such as a pool and a fitness center. However, the fact that the rooms were very noisy makes me feel as though it would take several nights to fully adjust to the loud volume of noise from outside of your room.
