The people working there were nice and tried to remedy the problems, but those problems were numerous and irritating:

-Air conditioning unit in Room #1 blew out at 3 in the morning on a warm night.

-Much disgusting black sediment in tub in Room #2 to which we were moved in the morning.

-Room #3 on concierge floor was adequate. Concierge facility for breakfast and evening snacks loaded with unsupervised adolescents. More people there than in the lobby!

-Couldn't exit garage b/c Room #3 card not keyed for garage.

-Room #3 not made up until 5 p.m. after we had been out of the room since before 9 a.m.

-Someone's $53 bar bill added to my hotel bill.

“Good Hilton property!”

I recently stayed at the Hilton in downtown Knoxville and had a comfortable, hassle-free stay. The Hilton Knoxville embodies all that you come to expect from a Hilton property, such as modern amenities and good service. Since I am a Hilton HHonors member, I was also treated to perks such as access to the 18th floor concierge lounge for both an afternoon reception and morning continental breakfast.

The Hilton Knoxville has sleek, modern decor, along with several restaurants and a Starbucks within the property. The hotel has a convenient downtown location, close by the UT campus, as well as within walking distance to Market Square and most downtown businesses and restaurants. The Hilton offers valet and self-parking, but due to its location, both for a fee.

Check in/check out was a breeze, and the front desk served as a fitting concierge. The rooms are also very comfortable with flat screen tvs, modern bathroom and complimentary wireless access; my room had a great view of the river/UT campus too. The only amenity that really lacking was a mini-fridge.

Overall, if you're traveling through Knoxville on business or pleasure, the Hilton is a great place to hang your hat!

“Adequate, Downtown Knoxville Hotel”

The Hilton Knoxville was a very comfortable high rise hotel in downtown Knoxville, TN. When I first got to the hotel, the valet service was very kind and efficient with getting my car. Despite arriving at about 10:00 P.M., there was a several minute line to check in, though the automated check in system had no line at all. The entire check in process was a little slow, but the staff was very kind.

Once I brought my bags up to my room (there was no bellhop on duty when I checked in or checked out), I had no trouble getting more than comfortable in the hotel's large, spacious, and nicely decorated rooms. The two queen beds in my newly renovated room had a pillow choice of four different pillows each with varying hardness/softness. There was a large HDTV in the room, however there were no HD channels available. My largest complaint about the rooms, however, was that they were extremely loud through out the night. Even very late in the night, I could hear voices from outside my room and even a lot of noises from the outside, even though my room was on the 18th floor. The sound made it very hard to get a good sleep.

For breakfast I went to the Market Cafe which had a good continental breakfast with a large selection of cereals, fruits, sausage, bacon, etc. An added bonus was that there was somebody who could make omelets and waffles, and you could also order pancakes, french toast, etc. through your waiter.

Overall, the Hilton Knoxville was a very compatible hotel with a friendly staff, nicely outfitted rooms, and many amenities such as a pool and a fitness center. However, the fact that the rooms were very noisy makes me feel as though it would take several nights to fully adjust to the loud volume of noise from outside of your room.

“It was just "okay".”

I stayed at the Knoxville Downtown Hilton on March 9th. Some friends and I went to a concert at Thompson Boling Arena, and it was fairly close. The hotel is very nice inside. Very modern, and semi-luxurious like one would expect from a Hilton Hotel. But we had a few inconveniences.

Upon arrival at about 6:00 pm, we found out that the reservation we'd made for two queen-sized beds had been changed due to overcrowding... instead, we wound up with one king-sized bed for the three of us. Haha, I ended up on the sleeper sofa!

Next, a friend of mine went to use the bathroom, and the commode wouldn't flush, so the hotel had a plumber to fix that situation, which left an inch of standing water in the bathroom floor practically. They immediately sent a housekeeper clean up the water. That whole fiasco took over an hour and a half, at which point we were all dressed up and ready to leave for the concert.

I should point out that this hotel has it's good points. Like I said, it's very nice, clean and sanitary. We really had no problems there. There is valet parking available when entering the parking structure. I believe it was $10. We decided not to use the valet, though, and ended up hiking from one end to another. Point being, if you don't intend to pay for valet parking, people with physical disabilities should keep that in consideration.
