“good location, great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2007

I recently stayed at this hotel for a college football game. It's in a good location - easily walkable to Neyland stadium in less than 15 minutes. The spacious hotel room and bathroom were in great shape - looked like they may have been recently renovated - and the two beds in the room were very comfortable and had the newer upgraded bedding and 4 fluffy pillows on each bed!

Customer service was top-notch. Check-in was quick and easy, and both
girls at the counter were very friendly. They were also very helpful when we went down later to ask for directions to a near-by restaurant.

Finally, the hotel breakfsat buffet was good and reasonably priced at $9.99 each, plus my 10 year old son ate free!

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel the next time I am in Knoxville, and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Hilton. The hotel was within walking distance to just about everything. I could see UT's football stadium from my window, the 82' Olympic Park was a short walk away along with many bars/restaurants. We had a king size bed and a couch that pulled out. Didn't use the couch but nice that it was available if needed. The bed and pillows were great, supper soft I slept like a baby. Overall a very good stay at this hotel. Would definately recommend to my friends and others.

Excellent location. Pretty lobby. Garage is not exactly connected and not owned by the hotel. Often full. The non-smoking room smelled from smoke (they never clean the air conditioning filters). The paint was wearing off the toilet seat. The complimentary breakfast was poor, the "short order cook" was indifferent if not down right nasty, while the waiter was wonderful. The manager was very nice. I was sorry that I had to discuss the hotel problems with her. You can do better.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hilton in Knoxville as part of a driving tour of Tenessee. The room was a typical 2 double bed standard room, but everything worked. The pluses were a full Starbucks in the lobby, an excellent buffet breakfast, convenient self-parking next door to the hotel, and the fact that the hotel is 2 short blocks from Chesapeake's, which may be the best seafood restaurant in Knoxville.

Our stay at The Hilton Knoxville was a mixed one. The check-in was very smooth and quick 'cos being a Hilton Honors Member helped a lot. Our room was not ready but 'cos we checked earlier than expected, they had another room set up for us. We were relieved as we had driven a long way to get to Knoxville. The room is clean and cool and every thing was in place.

The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant on site. Don't eat there. The food was terrible.

  • Liked — Quick check-in
  • Disliked — The restaurant in the hotel - horrible!!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2007

I stayed at the Knoxville Hilton July 8-11, 2007. The hotel is obviously old despite efforts to update its appearance. The main lobby was fairly nice. However, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel rooms. The bathroom was clean, but not spotless. A wash cloth that had been used by a previous guest had been left in the shower. The carpets smelled kind of musky. I requested a refrigerator for the room and the one that was brought up was old, beaten, and rusty in places. I was also told there was no charge for its use and then billed $5 per night for it. The pillowcases on the pillows were stained all over. The parking deck was not supervised or monitored, but did cost $8-$12 per night. I did not feel safe in it at night. The 3 elevators were very slow and ice machines only worked on 2 of the 18 floors. The location of the hotel is not close to much of anything except the UT conference center, so plan to drive to get to restaurants, shops, etc. I was very disappointed with the hotel and would not stay here again if in the area.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2007

We stayed at the Knoxville Hilton May 18 -19 while in the area for a wedding. We selected this hotel based on location and the good reviews in TA, and we were not disappointed. The staff was very nice, the rooms were fine w/ good linens, loved our view from the 16th floor of downtown Knoxville, UT, and the Tennessee River. We also had access to the concierge level, for drinks and appetizers in the evening, along with breakfast in the morning. The coffee was excellent.
We loved the location, close to UT and the Old World Fairgrounds, as our rehearsal dinner was held at The Foundry at the Fairgrounds site. We were able to walk for both exercise and dining options.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers to Knoxville, particularly for downtown events.
