Despite the weather (it happen to be raining this particular week), the Four Points Hotels was a welcomed surprise. Notably, the hotel offers inviting room accomodations and modest gym facilities. Hotel customer services was a wonderful experience. Hotel staff member "Claude", in particular, defined what the Sheraton name stands for. If your fortunate enough to meet Claude, expect nothing less then great support. Your stay at the Cumberland Four Points will be a great experience. I look forward to my next business trip and the opportunity of staying in many more of the Starwood chain of hotels.

The lobby and the hotel are, overall, very nice looking. However, after checking in and riding in the elevators, I had doubts. The elevators took about 10 minutes to get to the lobby -- there aren't that many floors, and their parking lot was empty, so I can't imagine why they were so slow. As I got in the elevator, the smell of mold/mildew took over, and they are in serious need of refurbishing.
The room was decent, however, when I opened the curtains, I had the great view of old apartment buildings, a parking garage and run-down alley ways. My window was filthy and covered with what looked like construction dust on the outside.
The doors were thin as I could hear employees outside of my room and picked up on every word they were saying. The internet connection was not good and I got so frustrated after a while I had to quit working. I would not recommend this hotel for persons who like a pleasant, easy-going environment.

Nice rooms but horrible service.

We flew from California to Atlanta on Saturday and drove in a downpour to Knoxville, arriving just before 9pm. The hotel restaurant was still (barely) open, so we had dinner. The service was snail pace slow. Our daughter had an audition for the UTK Pride of the Southland Marching Band the next morning at 8:30am and needed to rehearse that evening. We asked the consierge if there was a meeting room where she could practice. He said it was too late and there were guest rooms above the meeting rooms. Note that she plays clarinet, not drums or trumpet..Even the kitchen would have worked but instead she had to rehearse in the rental car outside in the rain....

She also had a campus tour scheduled at 8:30am on the following Monday. We sat down to eat breakfast at 7:15am and at 8:10am breakfast still had not arrived. So we left.

When we got the bill for check out, they charged us for parking (in the hotel parking lot!). They even charged us for parking on a day when we couldn't park in the lot due to a basketball game. We complained and they removed the charge but with no explanation or apology.

The only helpful employee was the valet, who appeared to be a college student. Everyone behind the desk was unfriendly, noncommunicative or even resentful. If Four Points offers restaurant service to customers, they should be serious about it and not offer it as an afterthought. There was no customer service at this hotel.

I would advise anyone with special needs to avoid this hotel.

This hotel is located right off of the Cumberland Strip in the heart of the University of Tenn. campus. It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful accomodations. We have stayed here twice and had a chance to use all of the assets that the hotel has to offer. The rooms are beautiful and VERY Clean! Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. We have used the conference rooms and catering service and had great experiences with both. The restaurant in the lobby provided us with a wonderful brunch buffet before leaving. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the UT or Knoxville area.
