“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Owner/chef prepares veggies from her garden. We had duck legs that were wonderful. Nice, friendly atmosphere and lovely decor.

“Excellent food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Would love to say this was a well thought out choice but truth is we selected it as the first nice place we saw close to our hotel - what a lucky break that was. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. My wife had the Spiced Rubbed Salmon and said it was delicious (and she is very picky about how her Salmon is cooked). I had the Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and it was also delicious. Two thumbs up!

“Quaint, unique dining in downtown Knoxville, TN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Upon a recommendation, I dined for lunch at this almost overlooked venue on Gay St. The audience was business and tourist centered and low lighting complemented the relaxed mood. I stepped out of my zone and tried a cold soup - the Bloody Mary chezpacho. Delic! I'm awaiting my grilled shrimp panini featuring kale, the chef's feature fresh veggie in season, and can't wait...a must stop by when in Knoxville. Very affordable yet refined in taste!

“So glad we went”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

If not for the orange neon signs in the window, you might walk past this place. We sought it out after reading that it was vegetarian-friendly.

Nice assortment of vegetarian options (one option in each category - app, sandwich, pasta, salad) within the compact menu. Not bad to have a compact menu because it suggests (and the bistro proves) that they do a great job on a smaller number of dishes than a mediocre job on many dishes - quality, not quantity.

We had the pimento chese fritters...they can knock mozzarella sticks out of the park any day. Delicious, and served with a tasty relish & sweet pickles as a great way to cleanse the palate.

We ordered the black eyed pea patty melt & bistro burger with fries.
Very tasty & very satisfying. Fries were seasoned & potatoey & didn't even really need ketchup. Patty served on pumpernickel & option of different toppings for the burger....unique touches like these make great cafes like this one. Great server, too. Thanks for your friendliness, Shannon!
