Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

“Long wait but very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This was another unique restaurant in Market Square. It had a diverse menu and a cool atmosphere. I had a "special" vegetarian taco that was great and everyone else loved their meal as well. The peanut butter pie was wonderful!

“Eclectic, healthy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

The food , service, friendliness , and price can't be beat but a little noisy. If you're so in love that you won't notice, or, not in love at all, you'll love this place.

“Victor's Service makes this place a sucess!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

What a great, casual night in Knoxville's Market Square. Our server, Victor, was so patient with us and truly took the time to guide us to the perfect menu options. What a gem!! The food is organic, local and delicious and the service (assuming they are all as fabulous as Victor) is over the top. Great fun casual market square brunch, lunch or dinner options! We were there for dinner but Victor convinced us to return for brunch and, as he promised, it was excellent. Great experience and thank you Victor for being such a fabulous host! We will return to Knoxville specifically to eat at Tomato Head!

“Tomato Head Rocks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

We were traveling through the area and saw this restaurant on TripAdvisor. We found it very frustrating to find, but once there well worth the effort. It is located at Market Square which is a pedestrian only zone. Our GPS was not very helpful and we had to ask someone in order to find the restaurant. Once there though, we found it to be great. The food was awesome and the service was good. Our soup was lukewarm but the waitress went out of her way to fix the problem. I had the Oh Boy sandwich which the waitress recommended. It was a great choice as was the mushroom soup that I got also. Other than our problem finding the restaurant, the experience was great. I highly recommend it.

“Lunch”

Something a little different to try. A little bit of everything on the menu. Pet friendly outside, they even provided water for dogs!
