“Wonderful Park!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

Awesome to see the park being utilized by the locals. There was a "walk for a cure" event going on. The park has a beautiful, very large grassy area, water fountain, spray ground for kids and a playground!! Perfect place to spend a couple hours!

“Park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

This is a nice park to relax . However, when I visited the fountain was emptied. It was a Saturday and there were no life activities going on. Also the tower was undergoing repairs . I was told it had been under construction since August of 2012. At any rate a good place to visit while in town

“Peaceful, pleasant, inspiring park with dignified memorial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

The Sunsphere unmistakably marks the site and directs one to the ample parking. However, the beauty of this park is not from the glitzy reminder of the '82 World's Fair, but more in the river-walk, the adjacent University campus and very moving memorial to East Tennessee veterans who served in our nation's battles to preserve and protect freedom. On a busy work day morning, this space was peaceful, pleasant and inspiring.

“Great urban park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

This is a nice retreat right around downtown Knoxville. A good amount of green space, some water features and a nice playground for younger kids. Tons of people using the area for exercise or just getting out in the sun. If you want to go up in the Sunsphere Tower, check their website because it is currently closed for renovations. Even without the tower it is a nice place and easily walkable from downtown. There are also nice public bathrooms located under the Clinch Ave bridge (near the elevator).

“Nice passive park.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Park is located at site of '82 World's Fair with the gold glow ball the predominant landmark. it has walkways, nicely landscaped and a water feature in the center behind the Convention Center. It was dry when we were there as not opened for spring yet. The Globe was closed for renovations when we were there. There is a pavillion across from the globe that has activities from time to time. Have been there once before when something was going on there. good place to get quickly away from the city scene briefly, walk, etc.
