“Very nice park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Nice park, with plenty of green space, fountains and a small creek that runs through the space. The observation level of the Sunsphere is free, just take the elevator from the ground levels.

“A cool piece of history worth a visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Went up in the sun sphere and got a great panoramic view of Knoxville. They also have tons of photos up there of the 1982 World's Fair. Not a huge place but serene and a nice place to visit. Parking was a little weird, hard to find.

“Nice Grounds but Not Much to See or Do”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The area is now a mostly just an open air park with a waterway through it. All that was left of the construction from the fair is the "space needle." Bring a picnic or some frisbees but you get much more history about it at the East Tennessee Museum.

“Just Another City Park”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

For anyone tempted to take a detour and visit this area, skip it. Unless you are into the nostalgia of the Sunsphere (which is showing its age), there's really nothing here but your standard fare of a fountain (very nice), playground grassy picnic spot, ampitheater and waterfront area. Although the area is decently maintained, it needs the excitement of a convention center event or outdoor festival to make it come alive. From what I learned from the locals, that only ahppens acouple times a year (that is, way too infrequently). Leave this for the locals to enjoy.

“OK”

A little dull. A nice place to walk around if you have nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty foundations.
