“Worlds Fair Park is a fun family time - and free!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great fun at fountains for kids, great playground and plenty of room for a picnic! The Sunsphere is accessible and free. The top level is open to catering to the best of my understanding. However, would love city to bring back more big names to amphitheater.

“What a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Free to go in. Go to top and view the whole city. Awesome. Again as in any big city the parking is always a problem but if you apply yourself and ride around a little you can park for free. Rest Rooms can be a little walk but they are there.

“Great Views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We took an out of town friend up here and it was nice..the Tower could be a whole lot cleaner! People need to coral their children...it is not a free for all for kids in this place...the parents seem to think they can let their kids run wild up there!! But it was a nice clear day and the views are great and it was Free too!

“Hard to beat such a view for Free!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

If you are in the surroundings of University of Tennessee or downtown Knoxville, definitely make a detour to the SunSphere. I bring most of my friends that come to visit our family here in Knoxville and I have not heard many negative comments about it. There is an elevator that will bring you to the observation deck on the 5th floor (distance between floors is huge, this is quite high) and from there you can have a 360 degrees view of Knoxville, Smoky Mountains, etc... with some captions. It's a short visit The Sphere is on the site of the 1982 World's Fair and is one of the last vestige of that event. In the same vicinity you can also reach KMA (no it's not Kiss My ... , it's the Knoxville Museum of Art!), the water fountains, great kids playground, and of course the booming downtown with great dining and drinking. Finally, go there on a clear day! (and if you have some time left go check the world's largest Rubik's Cube (another relic of the 1982 event)... in the old Convention Center
