“what a joyful surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

My dear husband surprised me this weekend with a stay at Whitestone Inn. What a joyful, relaxing surprise! Our room, the Canda Goose, was perfect. . . .a panoramic view of the lake, chapel and green meadow with horses, relaxing music, a soft, cozy bed, a clean, refreshing bathroom with options for a steaming relaxing shower or hot bubbly jacuzzi bath.
The beautiful grounds offered time for long walks and heart talks.
Our outing on the canoe was so relaxing, and yet intriguing. As we paddled through the glassy water seeing so many different birds, we could not remember them all to find them in the field guide.
We enjoyed the sunrise on the lake as we sat in the porch swing, then wow, what a delicious breakfast to start our day! Our time at Whitestone Inn was too short, but so thankful for the moments we had there! Paul, the owner, was so kind, sincere and hospitable; he made us feel like old friends as he welcomed and visited with us each time our paths intertwined. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!! I hope to return again soon.

We had a wonderful time (despite that it rained both days!) with my husband and 2 daughters. We stayed in the Cardinal Suite, which was spacious and had 5 beds! My girls went fishing in the rain and never complained one bit! The Whitestone is a little slice of Heaven! I enjoyed meeting the staff and Paul, the Innkeeper. They were all delightful and very gracious. Thanks for providing memories for my family to treasure forever!

Some ladies from our church just attended Christmas in July and made it into a retreat! Great food, great atmosphere, and Paul is a wonderful and gracious host. How refreshing to come to a place where you can relax and rest all set in a beautiful country landscape, please don't change a thing!

Celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. Great place to relax and enjoy the great views on the Tennessee River and the wildlife sanctuary. Great food and delightful Host (Gabe). Everything is first quality and clean. Large room with chaise lounge, king bed, all amenities, large bath with large whirlpool and spa shower. Excellent throughout. Will go back soon!

Room Tip: Hawk's Nest room is great! Best view of river.

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful Inn for our 25th Anniversary . It's really a haven for resting, spending quality time together, eating great food and being loved on by all the staff. We always find our room in perfect condtion and a staff that serves with a servants heart. I hope that you find yourself staying at Whitestone Inn so that you can enjoy all that we have during our last stay.

BLessings,

Alan

My husband and I enjoyed host Paul's wonderful hospitality thanks to offering educators rooms for half-price and at dinner, as coincidence would have it, we ran in to a couple both my husband and I had graduated high school with.(different high schools...different towns)..such a small world!! This earthly world is a better place thanks to The Whitestone Country Inn!! Thank you, Paul, for the many blessings you bestow to your guests. You make us all feel like family! If you ever get a chance for a weekend getaway, a girls' weekend, or just a relaxing respite from the outside world, they don't call this place A Sanctuary for the Soul without great reason! We will be back..hopefully sooner rather than later! A true gem...even in 100+ degree heat!

Room Tip: There is no real pool, just a lake to cool off in!

always see the little signs telling us to avoid a particular lane. Someone was smiling here, however, as the construction started just after we had to turn off to get to the inn - so we only had to see the signs warning of the construction, not actually do anything because of it.

If you are looking for a place that is convenient, be warned that this is probably not it. No easy on, easy off here - you are going to have to exit the freeway and then drive for a while. It is a fairly nice, scenic drive, but it is a bit of a hike. Well worth it, however, as you end up either in the middle of nowhere or right next to it, perched on the side of a lake (river, something).

The property actually contains several buildings, each of which then contain multiple rooms. Your package may contain dinner (probably a good idea since there is not much in the way of food offerings nearby), and you also get breakfast, though it is not a traditional bed-and-breakfast - way more than someone's house here, though you most certainly receive the attention as if it is a smaller place with just one or two guests.
