This hotel is ok if only staying the night. The carpet was pretty dated and sticky feeling. The room was very hot at night. Bikers circled and hung out in the parking lot all night long parting and screaming. I didn't get a wink of sleep.

the only thing decent was the beds. everything in the room didn't work. refrigerator, wall sockets or hair dryer. When the refrigerator didn't work we walked to get a cooler. Then the ice machine was broken. Talked with the front desk receptionist several times and nothing was done about it. Spoke with the hotel manager at check out and he said he would give us a free stay at any Super 8 in the country. He would send it to my email address. Another lie. I will never stay at this establishment again. Terrible hotel and terrible employees. This is no way to run a business.

Stayed at this hotel on our way to Dollywood. It was clean, neat, newer furnishings no problems whatsoever. I requested a ground floor room so we could load an unload our bags easily and was given one. Front desk person was very kind and sweet. Breakfast was pretty good-waffles, yogurt etc. I didn't perceive the area as particularly dangerous (I am a New Yorker, so could be my definition might be different). I felt safe and secure in our room.

Room Tip: Ground floor makes it easy to load and unload bags.

This Super 8 should be avoided. Apparently, so dangerous, they will not open the door for registered guests at night. I will stay elsewhere and avoid being left outside. If its too dangerous for the desk clerk ---- its too dangerous to be standing outside. When my room keys would not work after 2 trips around the back of the building. I requested a room up front which was refused. After much delay, I was assisted to enter my room. Room doors are also a problem. They don't open properly. So just imagine not being able to get into your room to safety.

Just stay elsewhere, there are plenty of good hotels in the immediate area........... How well would you sleep at this location knowing you are on the back of the hotel and no one working is going to help you or walk outside to check on the building? Help is not coming, bring your self defense items or stay home. Thanks but no thanks!

Rick D, Manager at Super 8 Kingsport, responded to this review, September 16, 2013
The management at Super 8, Kingsport take our guests safety very seriously. We have a state of the art security system with 24 hour monitoring of all public areas of the property. Our commitment to safety is also of top priority for our staff as well. Due to the nature of business that takes place on our off peak hours we encourage our graveyard shift employees to service our guest through our night window. Waxing and washing of floors often take place during these hours and to prevent slipping we do service our guest using the night window. Our continued commitment to customer satisfaction and Safety remains a top priority and we appreciate all feedback as well as the opportunity to offer insight into our daily activities. We are confident that our policies and state of the art security system have made Super 8 Kingsport a safe and comfortable place to visit whenever your travel needs require you to be away from home.
