My husband and i were on our way to Pigeon Forge Tn, when we decided to visit Jonesborough on the way. I actually found it on the computer, and what a lucky find it was. I read it was the oldest town in Tennessee, sort of like mayberry rfd.. anyways, not knowing the area, or where to stay, I relied on trip advisor to steer me in the right direction, and what a treasure I found. We stayed at The Hawley House, a bed & breakfast, and I have to say, it was such a pleasure. The owner, Marci, is such a sweetheart, from the moment we walked in the front door into this piece of history, with its beautiful antiques, and delightful wrap around porch, I knew I had found a treasure. We stayed in the "Preston room", and it overlooked the town. What I thoroughly enjoyed was the train that comes by a stones throw away from the porch, several times a day. It brought back so many memories of when I use to visit my dear grandmother, who has since passed, when i was a little girl. Now, if you want to experience a breakfast like no other, sit back and have Marci cook you up a down home breakfast like no other. Everything was delicious, what i wouldnt do right now to sit and have one of her homemade biscuits and apple butter. I would highly recommend staying here, you'll be glad you did!! (try the Bistro for a great sandwich)
