I've been staying here years and I'm sorry to say it, but, the property is in a state of decline. Recent re-model didn't help. Mildew around showers and tubs and the hallways are filthy. Bar parking makes night check-in inconvenient.

Staff is very friendly, but, Hilton needs to "clean house."

I expected more from a Double Tree Hotel, especially for the price! We were on the executive floor, but there was nothing executive about it. The room decor looked tired and old and needed remodeling. There was no thermostat in the room so regulating the temperature was difficult and the air conditioner was loud. Even with the air conditioning noise we could still hear people talking down at the street level and we were on the 5th floor! The closet door in our room was broken, there was no fan in the bathroom and the room had 2 double sized beds. They do not offer queens. That seems so outdated to me. Who sleeps on double beds anymore? The cookies were good but the breakfast in the morning was forgettable. Overall, a disapointment. We picked this hotel because they accept pets but the $50.00 non-refundable deposit seemed very high considering the condition of the room. It is very frustrating that many places that accept pets think it's okay to give you an outdated room because they assume you are not clean if you have a pet.

We loved our stay.the pool was clean and we had so much fun.It goes from inside to outside,our 6 yr. old loves water.the cookies were much appreciated after a long trip.check in was easy.staff was so nice. our daughter left her purse in the lobby.i guess they remembered what room we were in and called up to our room to tell us.We stayed during a weekday so no problems with parking.we have in the past had problems as the bar crowd takes up what should be reserved for hotel guests.need free coffee in lobby.coffee was 2.oo a cup.Refrigerator had been turned off.room very clean.didn't realize it was a non smoking,but it was fine i went outside.walking distance of a huge mall,great shopping.will stay there everytime we go.

In Johnson City for a few days, I decided to stay at the Doubletree. I will say that I always stay at Hilton properties unless (1) there is not one, (2) rooms are not available and/or (3) my wife elects we stay somewhere else.

Nothing special about this place. Renovation (mentioned in other posts) is probably nearing conclusion. The exec floor is finished, and the rooms are nice. Never understood why Doubletree (and other hotels) don't put better TVs on the exec floor.

Checkin was fine. Cookie was nice and hot. As a HHonors gold, I was given a free upgrade. Not enough parking though. When it's crowded, it's crowded.

Exec lounge at night was ... decent. One hot appetizer, which wasn't very good. Same cold veggies and fruit as other hotels. Overpriced, bad wine. At least they have a nice TV hung on the wall.

Exec lounge breakfast was pretty lackluster. 2 flavors of bagels, old-looking fruit, cereal, and what appeared to be the Hampton Inn Southwestern eggs. Oh, and they were out of bowls, so I guess the cereal boxes were for decoration only.

Housekeeping was fine. Free newspaper provided. Not in the best area (off the mall). I can't complain about anything, but if the hotel was situated in a city with another Hilton Property (other than HI), I would try the other.

Recommended but don't expect much.
