“Best barbecue in Johnson City, TN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

We've gone to Firehouse for the 30 years we've lived in Johnson City, and it's still our favorite for barbecue. Now we take our grandchildren because they love the children's menu. The portions are generous; the side dishes are exceptionally good; and the prices are fair. The old firehouse building is a delightful setting, and most of the time the owner, Tommy Seaton, comes around to ask how we're doing. We've never been disappointed in the many, many times we gone for lunch or dinner.

“Firetruck, Dalmation and great BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

The Firehouse Restaruarant not only has great food and service, but if you are into Firehouses, Fire Truck etc. this is the place to visit. If in a hurry order as you come in and sit down downstairs to get serve fast. However, if not in a hurry, go upstairs to order and enjoy the time with friends or family. The owner is also very involved in helping communtity non profits and events.

“Highly disappointed after receiving recommendation!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

The clerk at our hotel raved about this restaurant so we thought we would give it a go. Admittedly, the place was busy when we went at 6:30 PM so some people must like it. My wife ordered a club sandwich for $6.99 which is certainly a fair price, but that was the only good part. The sandwich was prepared with three thick slices of whole wheat toast and the smallest amount of ham and turkey we have ever seen on any sandwich. The slice of tomato was thicker than the meat combined. All she could taste was the bread! I ordered pulled pork and steak fries for $8.99 which included a nice dinner salad. The portion of pulled pork was extremely tiny, tasteless, cold, and no indication of being smoked. The steak fries also were cold perhaps from sitting too long before being brought to our table. Once we placed our order, we had to wait a half hour for these two meals. It only takes a few minutes to put together a sandwich and the pulled pork was obviously cooked sometime earlier. When confronted, our server said the kitchen was "busy." No excuse for such a long wait for two simple dishes. We always ask ourselves when visiting a new restaurant, would we ever return? The answer here is an unequivocal . . . NO!
