“Fine for Overnight Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

The Best Western in Johnson City is located in a built up area along a main road near many stores and restaurants. The rooms were fine and the rates were reasonable. They have an outdoor pool which we did not have time for, but appeared to need some cleaning. There is a bar in the lobby which made it noisy. The internet stations had some connectivity issues. Breakfast was slightly above average. It was a decent enough stay while driving through the area.

I made my reservation via an online hotel booking site with which I normally have good luck. This time was not a good experience. The hotel had two areas, a new (which is pictured) and an old. The doors open to the outside in the old part and as a woman traveling alone that is not acceptable. The rooms are small, in need of renovation and overall dinghy. The hotel staff was having an issue with room availability, I checked in to be called back because they thought someone had already checked into my room, I wish they had. I had been told the hotel was completely full, but when they thought someone else was in my room I heard talk of a suite for me.......um. The breakfast area was quite small, but there was another room across the hall for the overflow. Breakfast was average. I had trouble using the wifi, it kept saying to many users were on the server. Very disappointed with my stay in this hotel!

Room Tip: Only stay here if you are guaranteed a room in the new part of the hotel, old part is sketchy!

Comfortable beds/pillows. Room was nice but floor was somewhat dirty upon our arrival. Breakfast area/food was great! Internet not working at all during our 2 night stay, which was inconvenient. Overall, the stay was nice and we would return if needed.

This was an excellent place to stay. We got a hotel coupon from the welcome center in TN. which they honored on a holiday weekend. The check-in process went smooth and the staff was curious. The room was clean and spacious. You could hear the kids running the halls but that stopped at a decent hour. The breakfast was good. It was very crowded but their was additional seating across from the breakfast room. The breakfast items kept coming. We are enjoying the cool mornings. The key to our comfortable stay was the staff who was not only kind, smiled when they walked by making you feel at home they were knowledgeable. The location made an easy access with several eateries near by. This is a great place to stay for the entire family or a couple.

It is 11:50 pm and we cannot get into the hotel WiFi! I originally booked a room @ Best Western website. A fes wks later called to add 2nd room for son. When we arrived told his room for next month, but they fixed it, we thought. Returned afternoon 2nd day to find out they had only booked his room for 1 Night. They did fix it, but quite annoying.

This hotel is typically average. HOWEVER, it has just about the best hotel manager I've ever seen. Brenlie was at the desk when we checked in and was there when we checked out. When asked why, she said there was a staffing issue and she wanted to make sure it was done right. She was cheerful, professional, kind, and a good problem-solver. She answered all our questions, helped us figure everything out and did so kindly and cheerfully. She was, in short, a delight. Best Western would do well to have her train all their hotel managers on how to train staff to greet guests, help guests, and how to be a great manager.

After a long day of driving, I just wanted a dip in the pool and a good night's rest. I did not get either at Best Western, Johnson City. The pool had dead bugs and leaves floating and on the bottom and my bed was tilted with a wallowed out place at the bottom where many others had spent before me. I would check the pool and the beds before checking in to insure an enjoyable experience/
