“OH MY !! Those are Real RIBS!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

If you are ever in Jackson Tenn you must try the ribs here at this place they are mouth watering and you can pull the meat off the bones with your fingers. It's so good it needs no sauce!! It was recommended by the hotel. I was skeptical, because it was empty when I walked in, however after sampling the ribs I was in heaven!! If you want real Barbeque this is your place!!

“Avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2012

This is a butcher shop, grocery store and restaurant. Never get a deer processed there. Spoiled meat! Their pork BBQ is dry and has no taste. I hope the grocery store is ok. I won't find out.

“Barbecue for the purist -- check your msg concerns at the door”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012

If you're looking for china, cloth napkins and all-organic ingredients, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want meat -- real, unadulterated meat -- Latham's hickory-smoked pulled pork has few rivals. Slather on the cole slaw, the msg-laden BBQ sauce. Have an enormous sweet tea and load up on sides of collards and okra. One napkin isn't going to be enough. You're also gonna need a plastic fork to scoop up those tender chunks of meat that fall off your bun. Low prices, no atmosphere, just the best dang BBQ in town, maybe in the county. Friendly, unpretentious, not the easiest place to find, but well worth the trip.

“The Real Deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2012

I have been here several times, it is excellent. They simply do not make restaurants like this anymore. To start: gravel parking lot, burn barrels in back, and smokers outside next to the burn barrels. Inside: a food line, cash register at the end, and tables. The perfection is in the simplicity.

They charge for meat by the pound and per side. Everything I've had here is flat out excellent. More than once I've bought a full chicken to take back for dinner that night, they will package to go. Mr. Latham is old school and treats all the customers very well. As far as BBQ, the hickory flavor is excellent. The chicken was especially good, it is the perfect flavor. Chicken tends to pick up hickory flavor easily and restaurants tend to over do it, they do not. Get the sweet tea.

It is a very quick meal and only a few miles off the interstate. Well worth the stop. I would put this on a list of the must do BBQ restaurants in the state of TN.
