We visit Red Lobster perhaps 2 or 3 times a year and always enjoy the experience. On our most recent visit, we used a $25.00 gift card as part payment which always makes us feel like we're getting even better value!
One thing impressed us very much. We were seated in an area that was gradually being closed off as it was near the end of the evening. Eventually we were the last table in that section. We noticed something that ramped up our opinion of this restaurant: the servers were thoroughly cleaning every table - and I mean thoroughly. Too often we've seen bussers dump a dirty plastic tub on a chair and empty the scrapings and dirty plates into it before giving the table a cursory wipe with a greasy towel. Not at this Red Lobster!
Each table was sprayed and thoroughly cleaned with paper towels that were frequently discarded and replaced. Every seating area in the booths - seats and backs - were similarly cleaned with disinfectant. Even the legs of the chairs were cleaned, and each area was inspected by a supervisor before being approved.
Of course, we couldn't see if the same attention to cleanliness was followed in the kitchen, but we bet it was.
Yes, we enjoyed our seafood and beverages (and the wonderful biscuits) but that was what we expected. What we had NOT expected was such a high degree of care about keeping the dining room clean and germ free.
