Spent Christmas Day here; made reservations about 3 1/2 weeks before and still had about a 25 minute wait for our table. Once we were seated, it was obvious our server did NOT want to be working that day. She wasn't quite rude, but she wasn't attentive, never smiled, seemed like we were ruining her day... ok, she was a little rude. There was quite a bit of wait time between our courses and our glasses weren't refilled unless we asked (after they had been empty a while).
There were 4 of us; we each ordered a "small" entree ("serves 2 or more") plus we had a coupon for a free small entree, so, theoretically, we had enough to serve 10 or more. Again, there were only 4 of us. We barely had any leftovers and we aren't huge eaters! So, it seems as if the portion size must have gotten smaller.
The food quality wasn't quite as good as it has been on our previous visits. One thing I have kept coming back to Buca for was the great fresh-tasting food. This particular visit was a let down. Our Baked Ziti came to the table barely warm, dry and was absolutely nothing special taste-wise for sure. The Margherita Pizza was good, but the tomatoes tasted very canned. The salad was the best thing we had; it was cold and fresh, but lacked a couple of the ingredients printed on the menu. The Manicotti, which is usually my favorite, was good, but not great. My son got the Spinach Florentine and it was really good. Tiramisu for dessert was wonderful!
I love the atmosphere and will return, but hopefully to a little better food quality next time.
