Description: Granite City Food & Brewery(R), a casual dining restaurant with an on-site brewery. Our initial restaurant commenced operations in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in June 1999. Our second restaurant, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, commenced operations in December 2000, and our third restaurant opened to the public November 20, 2001 in Fargo, North Dakota. We now have 26 stores operating in 11 different states. At Granite City Food & Brewery(R), we serve signature beers, including Duke of Wellington (an English ale) and Broad Axe Stout (an authentic Irish beer), and entrees such as London broil. We offer a broad menu of items that are prepared fresh daily and are served in generous portions at reasonable prices. Our handcrafted beers are moderately priced and offer unique styles and flavors not typically produced by major breweries. Our founders, Mr. Wagenheim and Mr. Burdick, have over 52 years of combined hospitality industry experience. Mr. Wagenheim's experience includes that of corporate executive, owner/operator, manager and consultant for hotels, resorts, and individual and multi-unit restaurant operations. Mr. Burdick, a brewing chemist, has over 30 years experience in the restaurant, hospitality and brewing industry in both corporate and private positions. Fermentus Interruptus™Shortly before we opened our third store, we launched our patented brewing process, Fermentus Interruptus™, which makes micro brewing for multiple locations more efficient. This process, conceived and designed by Mr. Burdick, allows us to ship sweet liquid called wort, from our central brewing facility to individual stores. When this liquid reaches the stores, we begin the fermentation process and complete the brewing. We use Fermentus Interruptus at all of our Granite City Food & Brewery(R) locations.

“Good Service Food Sorta Pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

This establishment is adjacent to the Drury Inn and conveniently located off of I-65. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is excellent. The food is pretty good however, a bit overpriced for what is served.
NOTE: This is a good place for lunch. Family friendly.

“New in town and first time trying..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

My colleagues wanted to grab a quick lunch this past Friday and we were looking for something quick and easy..so we also didn't want to keep going back to the old haunts we go about Franklin. So we tried Granite.. The service was friendly but the food came out very very slow... We wanted a 45 minute in and out lunch and it took and hour and half .. We had two salads and a pasta dish. My tortellini pasta dish was over sauced and ok but my two friends dishes/ salads they loved ..the shrimp app was ok too.. So service just ok and food overall average. Will try again when it is not lunch and will need to try the beers that they brew ..along with flatbreads.

“Fancy brewery, OK food, good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

First visit here since they newly opened. I like the way the place looks. The music and bar scene is a 40-60 year old crowd.
Tried their beer sampler, and they have pretty good brews. Nice happy hour, I think 3-6.
Very good soups, wasn't overly impressed with my Arugula & Mushroom flatbread pizza or my wife's sandwich. Bland taste, needing some spice. I added a bit of lemon juice and red pepper, and that seemed to do the trick.
Good enough to come back, but I probably will not. There are so many other places close by that I enjoy more.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Great food-great beer and great service. Thanks Amy for being so attentive to
us. Nice to see young people who really seem to like and appreciate
their job. Food was excellent-Prime rib sandwich and Naps Valley burger rocked.
