“Bizaare Decor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2010

We are moving to Crossville in 19 months - retiring from military. Visited this past week and wanted to have a nice evening out with friends who had driven in from Knoxville. Had heard that Halcyon Days was the place to go for a nicer than average dinner in the area. Food was delicious! Everyone's! The Chicken Wellington was divine! Decent wine list. However...the decor was downright CREEPY! It resembled a funeral home instead of a swanky restaurant. This place has so much potential, but the decor desperately needs to be changed. The dolls having dinner as you walk in was bizaare, not to mention the purple fabric hanging in the dining room and the garland of plastic roses. I strongly hope that the owners will take note and bring this fabulous restaurant into modern times.

“Not as good as in the past”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2010

It has been a year since we have been to Crossville and have eated at this restaurant. We were disappointed with our visit. It was a weekday night, and there was only one server for a full dining room. She kept apologizing for not being more attentive. The best part of the dinner was the dessert. Am hoping that this was just an off night, as we have always enjoyed eating here in the past.

“Doesn't quite get where it's trying to go........”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2008

Very disappointed especially based on the two previous reviews. The smoked salmon appetizer was fine....it was very fresh tasting and appropriately chilled. However, our house salads were quite boring and absolutely drowned in dressing. I can't swear to it, but it seemed like bagged salad was used. Two sad, wrinkled little grape tomatoes were the "color" in the salad. My duck was adequate but the frozen vegetable medley that accompanied it was dismal. Didn't even have the heart to eat it. Yuck!
The decor is horrible....plastic flowers everywhere and a creepy, ookie doll tea party is set up as one walks into the dining room. Huh?
The staff was friendly, the service fine, the hostess pleasant. All in all, won't be back.....too much money for what you get.

“Fine Dining in Crossville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2007

For Crossville, this is the best FIne Dining - nice, quiet, cozy atmorsphere . . good wine selection, and menu selections were interesting, too. Service was good - - albiet little slow with all the table-side ceasar salads being presented - but definitely a place for a special evening.

“Best in Crossville”

An unexpected fine restaurant in a small town. If you enjoy the Cumberland Playhouse, you will probably love this restaurant.
