“Very Dirty, staff unprofessional”

Arrived on a Friday night, in May 2006.

Upon entering the room, noticed the carpet had not be vacuumed. Upon further inspection, the bed sheets had not been changed, either. There were hairs in the bed and the room was just dirty.

Called the front desk and they asked if I would like to change rooms...of course I would. The clerk did bring down a cart to pack my luggage....never offered to help. The second room was not much better...I had an appointment within one hour so I did not have time to find another motel.

When checking out, the clerk asked me to fill out a comment card regarding my complaints...of course it took several minutes for him to find one. After some time, the clerk gave me a whopping $5 off on my next visit. I told him I would not be back.

As you can see from the other reviews, the La Quinta Inn takes great pride in providing our guests with excellent customer service and an inviting and clean environment to spend their night stay. As such, any complaint to the contrary, we take very seriously.

We have a Head Housekeeper who is in charge of checking each room on a daily basis; the rooms do not get put in as clean until she has checked it. After each guest checks in, the clerk makes a courtesy call to the guest to make sure everything is great with their room. When the guest responded to the courtesy call and the clerk found out the problem, she apologized to the guest and offered to switch her room, which was done. Our helpful clerk brought a luggage cart to help the guest move her things, even though she was extremely busy at the desk as expected on a weekend night.

Our front desk staff is required to fill paperwork on every guest that has an issue and that is policy. The gentleman working at the desk at checkout is a retired US Postal Service employee and has had surgery on his legs, which causes him to move slowly. Usually guests are very understanding about his condition.

We use this website and several other methods to receive feedback from all our guests, which helps us improve. I have shared this review with all of the departments at the hotel to ensure this is taken care of. We invite all guests to come stay with us and judge us for themselves and I'm sure they'll find we have a warm and friendly staff with excellent rooms and amenities!

“A weekend saver!”

My family had originally had reservations at the Best Western for the weekend of the UT-UCONN basketball game. We had made the reservations for 2 rooms on-line and had failed to use this web-site for user reviews to pick the nicest hotel. We arrived on a Friday evening with plans to stay 2 nights. It was so bad that we were desperately, at the last minute, late on a Friday night looking for a room. There several other events going in town and most of the hotels were filled up. We were afraid that we would never find anything. We had friends that were staying at the La Quinta Inn, so we called and the gentleman working the front desk said that he would hold 2 rooms for us, but he couldn't hold them for long because he was almost full. We were detained at the other hotel trying to check out and get our money back so we were afraid that the rooms at the La Quinta would be gone. Thankfully, the gentleman at the front desk had been true to his word and held the 2 rooms for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, serving biscuits and gravy. There were also coffee makers in the rooms. My kids loved the indoor heated pool, the only hotel on that exit with a heated indoor pool. Well worth the price of the room. Good location, clean, comfortable, safe environment.

During the thanksgiving holiday, my kids picked this hotel because of its indoor heated pool and we agreed because of the reviews we'd read. Thank you. This hotel really was a great experience for my family. my kids adored the indoor pool and practically lived in the entire time we were there. My husband and I enjoyed the spacious and CLEAN ROOM with an excellent view of the town. We really enjoyed their bisquits and gravy during breakfast. Reminded us of real southern cooking.

“Great Staff”

Upon arrival, I was informed my room was not yet cleaned since they had been full the night before. No problem, I would just have some coffee and wait. Well, when it was finally ready, I went up and discovered a cleaning rag had been left in the room by housekeeping. As soon as I called front desk, the lady working was very apologetic and switched me immediately to another room. This room was great. She even called me a little while later to make sure everything was satisfactory and to let them know if there was anything else they could do for me. What great service! I was pleasantly surprised that even though the front desk was probably swamped with people waiting to check-in, she would take the time to make sure my stay, one customer out of so many, was excellent. Later that night, my toilet started leaking and running, so I called the front desk and informed them of the problem. The maintenance was sent right up and before i knew it the problem was fixed. And again came the call to make sure everything was alright. THIS is what great customer service is all about. If i had never called down to report my problem, the hotel never would have fixed the problem and my stay would have been ruined. The next morning, the clerk had already given me a coupon for my next stay at the hotel because of the problems i had experienced. WOW! Apart from all of that, the room itself was very clean and well maintained and the pool was very warm and toasty. THANK YOU!

“Good Recovery”

I had first stayed at the hotel with a friend about two weeks ago and wasnt sure if I should stay at the hotel again. The hot tub hadnt been working and I had really looked forward to relaxing after my meeting, but unfortunately, it wasn't working. When we made our reservations, they had told us the spa wasnt working, but we had hoped it wouldve been fixed by the time we arrived. The pool was nicely heated though, and felt good with the cold weather the town had. Since the room and breakfast had been great, I decided to give the hotel another chance. Boy, was I right. The manager had worked very quickly to fix the problem with the jacuzzi and it was fine when I checked in again. And she even remembered me from my last visit and made sure my stay went great. I had problems with hooking up to the internet, but she fixed that too... (make sure your firewall isnt up or allows the internet to connect). After I did what she told me, I didnt have any further problems. So, glad to know that there are hotels out there that actually listen to their customers and fix the problems. Keep up the good work!
