“Fun but disappointing service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

We had a group of 28 that we called ahead with 1 1/2 hr notice. They told us it'd be no problem accommodating us. We waited almost 30 min for our grills. They crammed us onto 2 grills, two servers and two chefs. Service was pitiful. We finally got pitchers of drinks and helped ourselves. If it wasn't for the entertaining chefs, this visit would've received very poor ratings. They added 18% gratuity which wasn't deserved at all. Wasn't impressed.

“Got food poisoning from shrimp”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2011

Yep, spend the night throwing up all night after eating here. Three others in our party also got very sick. The only person in our party who didn't get sick didn't eat shrimp, so.........

“Very disappointing! Way overpriced for...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2010

Very disappointing! Way overpriced for poor service- even rude- and bad food. The rice was burned and the chef didn't speak the whole time. They were out of all "house" wines which were the "special". They just wanted to upgrade us. They charged us for a 16 oz beer when my husband actually received a 12 oz. They were terrible at refilling water. Our kids had to get our table chopsticks because they didn't bring them. But yet they added on their own 18% gratuity b/c we had a party of 7. This was definitely NOT worth the money!!!

“A little pricey but you get a show coupons good during the week only”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2009

The food was good, atmosphere was ok even tho the other 2 couples seemed a tad bit odd ( a bit tense). Our little boy broke the ice, brought humor to the table. We got the volcano, but no choo choo train ( stacked onion tricks) though lol. The Chef did a good job in preparation, missed catching the whole egg with his hat (oops). He did some of the standard tricks, nothing elaborate. The steak (filet mignon) and shrimp were tender and tasty enough, veggies , noodle and rice good. I really like the salad but the soup is a bit salty for my taste. The servings were generous enough. Kid friendly, yes. Our Chef and waiter were very helpful and friendly, the waiter almost to a fault. I think the wife said we dropped $77 with the tip for the 3 of us. One of the better teppanyaki grills in the greater Memphis area. It's on par with Atan in my opinion. Decor was nice.
