“Great pizzas but over priced.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Neat atmosphere, but over priced food. The staff was attentive, but not very friendly. The pizzas are cooked in a wood burned stove and are delicious, but are a little over priced. The beverages are also costly. Lots of tv's to watch sports. If the prices went down a little we might visit more often.

“Two experiences...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

The first time our family went to Skimo's for lunch was a pleasant enough experience, with the food fairly slow in coming out (there appears to be only one chef/cook) but, overall decent sandwiches (Buffalo chicken was best), though somewhat over-priced. (See: http://skimosinc.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/Skimos_Menu_togo_new.24482934.pdf )
The second time, more recently, was our LAST, though. The wait time was absurd, as there was only one other table and yet we waited 40 minutes for two kid's plates and two salads. The sandwich and fried fish were fine, as was my Avocado Chicken Caesar salad. However, my wife ordered the "fresh" Sautéed Tuna Salad - when asked if it were fresh tuna (i.e., not frozen), the wait person couldn't answer one way or the other. When it came out, we pretty much got our answer: while the outside of the tuna fillet was grilled dark, the center was obviously quite raw, and ICE COLD. We asked the waiter to return it to the kitchen, and he told us that they would "heat it up" some more... Later, he returned with the "reheated" tuna fillet and then proceeded to lecture my wife that, in the future, she should request that she preferred it "hot" or some such nonsense, as that was the way they prepared their tuna (grilled outside, raw and cold inside). No apology for the undercooked entrée, and no offer to discount what was an inedible plate as served. We paid full price for it, and the price for a lunch servings of a grilled cheese, fried fish plate, Caesar salad, and half-raw tuna salad plus beverages came to over $60.
Never again will we pay to eat at such a pretentious and ill-mannered place. There are PLENTY of great eateries within a mile or so drive from Skimo's, and we will take our business elsewhere.
