OMG, I booked the room online for business because of the discounted price as I would be working in town for a few months and had a daily per diem limit. When I arrived the first night after driving in for several hours, the office was closed and the "Emergency" number when called was for current guests only. The web stated the office was open until 8pm. It was 6pm and they were closed. When I returned the following night, I was greeted two police cars in the parking lot with several people handcuffed leaning on the side wall and others just standing around in the lobby. I went to the fron t desk and a toothless woman was sitting there playing on her phone and ignored me. When I finally got her attention, she said she only had 3 rooms available and had 4 other people waiting to be checked in. I showed her my reservation, but she said she didn't have it and told me to either wait until she could get the other families in front of me checked in and IF she had a room, I could rent it. REALLY? I thought that was why WE make a RESERVATION...Hello!
Anyway, the good Lord I felt was trying to tell me I did not need to stay here, so I left. As I was leaving the building, I asked an officer what was going on a his reply was, you probably shouldn't be staying here ma'am. The other side of Columbia has much nicer accomodations. That's was all I needed to hear. My dog and I drove over to James Campbell, (Highway 50), and are staying at the Baymont. Not an extended stay, but I feel very safe here. I am able to walk my dog every night when I get home and can park my car without expecting it to be up on blocks the next morning.
Read my other post about the Baymont Inn & Suites. I was VERY satisfyied and the Manager Allyson was wonderful about working with me on the price since I was staying several weeks. Just ask anyone there. She is Fabulous!
