“Lovely alternative to I 75 hotels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Our family was fortunate to stay at the Skunk Ridge Farm Bed and Breakfast while we were moving our daughter from Florida to graduate school in Ohio. Skunk Ridge, which is situated in a beautiful, quiet setting, is minutes away from I 75, restaurants and shopping. Larry and Martha were very welcoming, the accommodations were charming and the cooked to order breakfast was delicious.

Room Tip: Since we had a two bed room suite, we had plenty of room to relax in after a full day of driving.

This is by far the best B & B we have ever stayed at! Hosts Larry and Martha make you feel right at home! Our suite was fabulous..bedroom, dormer with microwave and fridge and living room with satellite tv, couch and comfy recliner. Breakfast is home-cooked at your requested time and delicious! We stayed here while attending the Museum of Appalachia's Fall Homecoming. The B&B is only a mile from the museum and close by to restaurants and shopping, but is in a very quiet, rural setting. The only noise we heard during our stay was a cow mooing one night. As animal lovers, we enjoyed the fact that we were greeted by Goldy the owner's dog, upon arrival and that if we left our door open the B&B's cats would come up to visit us. We are looking forward to visiting again and will be referring this B& B to our friends!

My mother and I wanted a "MOM ONLY WEEKEND" and boy did we get just that!!! The B&B was easy to find and close to all the attractions. There was a wide variety of eateries, antique shops, and spas! We enjoyed the yummy breakfast that Martha provided and the great conversation with Larry. We loved the fact that there was a wide open space to explore and walk. Our area was huge! The space that we were in would lend itself easily to a family with childern or 4-5 adults!! We are planing a return trip with the girls!

Dean and I enjoyed our weekend at Skunk Ridge Farm B & B so very much. It was such a pleasure to introduce Dean to B & B's by starting with your wonderful home and farm. Everything was perfect. I so enjoyed the wonderful little touches like the daffodils and the home made cookies in the room and if I forgot anything it was already in the room for our convenience. Little things make the difference and you thought of everything. The breakfasts were homemade and delicious and the host and hostess could not be improved upon.

This is our 2nd stay at Skunk RIdge Farm and we feel that we know the innkeepers personally. Larry and Martha are a wonderful host and hostess and the breaksfasts are outstanding! My children, aged 4 and 7, felt like they were at home and couldn't wait to get back to the inn after we'd been out and about for the day. We plan to come back and visit again and again!

We have stayed at the Skunk Ridge B. and B. twice now and already have our reservations for October, 2007, which gives you an idea of how much we enjoy the warm hospitality of the gracious hosts, Larry and Martha Hamner, and their beautiful B. and B. The Hamners give their guests a wide assortment of choices for the delicious breakfasts, so no matter what your diet needs might be, they have something for you. The accommodations are luxurious and comfortable, and both the suites are equally desirable.

The location, in the rolling hills outside of Knoxville, is so beautiful, especially in the fall, that we found ourselves reluctant to leave. We now feel that we have a second home in Tennessee.

if u love pets this is the place for u. they have 2 cats, a dog, and 2 horses on the farm. if u want them to, the pets can come in your room, but there are doors if you prefer they don't. located on 20 acres in the woods there's plenty of room to walk. our room had a king, double, and even a single bed so could easily accomodate a big family. there was a separate tv room which is good when one in your party stays up late! it's so quiet & serene you are guaranteed a good night's rest. they have a pool but since it's in a shaded area and the mountains can get cool, i would only use it june-august. the owners are very friendly and made us a big breakfast featuring items we chose from a menu. tobacco products are not allowed which is great to me. we'll definitely go back if we're ever in the knoxville area again - just 20 min north of downtown knoxville.
