This is the second time we've stayed in a Clarksville hotel enroute to Florida, though our first time at this hotel.
Things started out poorly. First off, they couldn't find our reservation. Even with our confirmation number, and a cell phone browser confirmation page shown to them, they couldn't find it. Thankfully they had availability and honored our rate as indicated by the confirmation. Naturally, our reserved cot was not availble to us, despite confirming the reservation several days prior. They were able to find a cot though, one that was missing a wheel, which they made available to us free of charge. Crisis solved, and we moved into our room. Throughout, the lady working the front desk was very friendly and accomodating and pleasant.
All we look for in a hotel room for a single night stay enroute elsewhere is cleanliness, amenities correctly operating, and peace & quiet. The room was clean although dated, sheets and towels were clean. The free wireless Internet worked fine, we were able to get online without any problems at all. The TV worked and tuned all the channels my three boys wanted to see: Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and the ESPN family of channels. Plenty of hot water, and good water pressure. The fridge in the room worked well, and kept all of our drinks and fruits and vegetables cold and ready for the next day's drive. The air conditioning worked fine, and as a nice touch, the room was cool when we arrived. All outlets worked, though there were not enough to charge three cell phones, a camera, and a computer all at the same time. Bring a power strip. All in all, no problems there.
We five plus dog slept well, our minivan was where we left it the next morning, along with the bikes (not locked) we strapped to its tailgate. Breakfast was a bit sparse, and the area in which we were to eat was too small for the number of people who partook, but for the price, I'm not complaining too loudly. All in, we spent $69.54 to spend the night. That includes tax and the upcharge for our Golden Retriever. No complaints here.
