“It's Bea's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

What else can be said about this Chattanooga institution.
Bad neighborhood, old building but great food in a somewhat unique atmosphere.
The menu varies from day to day but the chicken is always great.
Go hungry, leave stuffed.
This isn't a buffet like Ryan's or Golden Corral, this is family style dining and plenty to eat.
If you want a good meal go to Bea's, if you want 1000 items you will be disappointed.

“bea's in service when my dad delivered coca cola in chattanooga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

When my dad was a young man in the 1950s he worked for Coca-Cola in the summer delivering to lookout mountain for the tourist and the college kids. The young men would stop at Bea's Diner to replenish after a hard morning of deliveries. I had no knowledge of Bea's until one day we were in Chattanooga goofing off, and he said let's take in Bea's restuarant. He told me that they have the best fried chicken and yeast rolls in all of Chattanooga he said it isjust like your Grandma's cooking. Folks my Dad didn't lie, now it's not an upscale yuppie place, nor a place for high maintenance babes, but if you like down home food and plenty of it at a modest price, your home.

“Comfort food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

This is an unusual place because you are seated at a round table with 8 seats (sometimes with others) and all of the food is placed on a revolving "lazy susan" in the center of the table. The food is typical Southern comfort food - fried chicken, bar-b-que, macaroni and cheese, slaw, greens, etc. Price is reasonable for what you get, an all-you-can-eat meal. Make sure you save room for the dessert - a fruit cobbler that can be strawberry, peach or some other fruit. Only small complaint I have with the food is that the bar-b-que is average at best and the fried chicken is white meat only, so no thighs or drumsticks. One other note - although only a few minutes from downtown Chattanooga, this is off the beaten track and in a somewhat questionable neighborhood.

“Round and round...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Bad neighborhood, Great food.
Served at your table family style. The waitress brings piping hot dishs to the table, placing them on a built in "Lazy Susan".
Southern cooking includes, Chicken & Dumplings, greens, spuds, fried chicken and many more.
It is all you can eat and yes, you will eat too much but it is so worth it.
They have been around for 60 some years so they must be doing something right.
Since it is "family style" you also get to meet people from other places and talk about your day.
A throwback to a time when people were not in a constant race against time.
