This family-friendly restaurant is located just a few minutes past Hamilton Place Mall down East Brainerd Road. The decor is cozy and simple (and clean!) I love the thick green washclothes that are given as napkins. Yes, their barbeque is great - my favorite is the sliced brisket or the pulled pork - and they offer three different sauces which are on the table: spicy hot, regular, and sweet yellow mustard. But what really makes this restaurant worth the trip is their fried pickles: thinly sliced rounds of dill pickle lightly battered and fried up golden, served with "tiger sauce" which is a creamy dip with a hint of horseradish. They are soooo addictive. Also noteworthy is their potato skins, which are genuine homemade potato skins, not the prepackaged yucky frozen ones. The stuffed potato, which is a baked potato that has been coated with salt prior to baking, then split open and stuffed with your choice of toppings and barbeque meat, is a very filling and economical choice. Service is always attentive and friendly. Note for parents - there are video games down the hall across from the restroom. I can't ever hear them from the table, but if you send a child to the restroom and they disappear for a while, they might be playing games! Our entire family loves Bones Smokehouse! And for a quick dinner-to-go, they also have a drive-thru.
