This building was built in 1909 and was once known as the Colonial Hotel. You can still see features that are original and restored. It is now an Inn/B&B and very well maintained. It looks as though it still has the original hardwood floors.

Overall I would say we had a very good stay at this location. The host and the breakfast staff were wonderful. We reserved a second floor room which had private balcony with a jetted tub. This was super nice and very relaxing. This room also has a claw foot tub and French shower along with a separate water closet (toilet). :)

The breakfast on Sunday morning was wonderful. Much more than a standard continental breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful in pointing out everything that was available to eat. They also had some outstanding coffee.

The only negatives I have about this location is the floors do creek a lot. We had someone above us on the third level and when they moved around we heard it all. If you are a late sleeper you can only hope the people above you are too. If I stayed here again I would request a room on the third level just because of the squeaking floors. The bed was a bit to giving or soft for my liking but my wife loved it so other than these two items I would recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I stayed here for our 3rd Anniversary. James (the front desk clerk) recommended we stay in room 39 when I called to make a reservation and I am so glad that he did. This room has a balcony that allows you a nice view of some of the downtown buildings. We found the room to be clean and very nicely decorated. It is decorated in a French theme which my wife and I loved. Our room also had a fireplace too. They had candles in the room and around the jetted tub as well. In addition to this place being so nice the staff was more than eager to help. We even had one of them take some pictures of us before we went out to dinner. We went to "Table 2" for dinner and the food was INCREDIBLE! It is a short walk from Stone Fort. The staff @ Stone Fort even made the reservations for us. They also have a binder with menu's from local restaurants so you can decide what you'd like to eat. We were there during the week so we didn't get to experience the gourmet weekend breakfast. However, we were very pleased at what they had. They offered to cook us eggs and bacon if we wanted some (we ended up getting that and it was good). They had a nice selection of cereal, pastries and fresh fruit (continental stye breakfast). We hope to send some of our friends here as this place is wonderful AND romantic. We'll definitely return one day too!

I highly recommend the stone fort inn. Everything about it was perfect. We stayed in a private balcony room it was wonderfully decorated and more beautiful than any pictures. The whole staff was wonderful and were more than eager to meet any need that you might have.

My husband and I planned a quick overnight getaway to Chattanooga recently and he surprised me by making a reservation at the StoneFort Inn. The place is incredible!

The room was beautiful! A magnificently carved headboard and footboard framed the king size bed which had a mattress that felt like sleeping on a cloud. The room included a sitting area with a fireplace. We also had a private balcony just off the sitting area. The bathroom was spacious and had a jetted tub for two! The whole inn looked this way. Very clean, neat, and quiet!

On Friday night, there was a wine and cheese reception in the library. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and met other couples staying at the inn. Loved just sitting, relaxing and talking!

The one "complaint" that I had was with the inn's website. It is a little deceiving about the location of the inn. It makes you think that the inn is on the Tennessee River or right at the aquarium. Not the case. It is in town, but is extremely convenient to walk to restaurants and shops and to the aquarium if you don't mind a small hike!

On weekend mornings there is a gourmet breakfast in the dining area. And it is truly gourmet! Fresh fruit, muffins, eggs benedict, pancakes, plus an assortment of cereals and oatmeal were available along with coffee and different juices. You only leave hungry if you choose to! And there are always cookies in the open area for guests to nibble on.

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cozy get away. It is a little pricey, but well worth every cent! We will go back again!

The staff was friendly and did their best to make our experience wonderful. It was a perfect stay.

“Wonderful boutique hotel”

I loved this boutique hotel and would definitely stay here again. The staff was wonderful and would attend to our every need. In addition, the breakfast was perfectly adequate and served in a perfect little breakfast nook restaurant. However, I would agree with the reviewer who discussed the noise problem. We stayed on the top floor and were glad we did because the floors were creaky and the walls very thin. we could hear pretty much everything around us and outside. we could sleep fine, just be aware of this if you are a light sleeper, and stay on the third floor.
