“Pretty place to see Chattanooga”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

We visit the walking bridge frequently. Its a nice place to take a walk, catch a sunset, or sit and watch the river. Its a pedestrian bridge so you don't have to worry about your little ones getting run over. There are bikes that use the bridge, however, they are generally considerate of the walkers. Its a great way to get from one side of the river to the other safely and scenically. More free parking on that side then you walk over the bridge to North Chatt and Coolidge park.

“Walnut Street Bridge is a great photo opportunity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

We walked over this bridge multiple times in our 5 day stay at Chattanooga. It was always impressive and has several informative signs about the history of the bridge and river. I had hoped to get a sunset view from the bridge but the weather did not cooperate.. There is pay by the hour parking at the base of the bridge on the Northshore and several nice parks to explore on the Northshore and the Aquarium water features on the downtown side.
At the start of the bridge on the downtown side there are bikes you can rent by the hour if you would like to explore on bike.
We crossed at different times of day and night and felt safe.

“A Nice Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

This bridge is really neat to go over, the views are beautiful & there are benches to sit on & just take a moment. So easy to walk, to find it & to enjoy. Leads over to the north side and to more shops & eateries with an eclectic flare about them. Just makes for something different to do & is great exercise.
