“Very Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012

We stayed at this Residence Inn for two nights last week, and we found it to be a very nice hotel. It is extremely clean, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. To a person, they were pleasant and accommodating.

The decor is extremely modern--not our taste, but more important to us was the overall cleanliness of the establishment.

We had two rooms (one for my husband and I, and one for our adult sons to share), and both were well appointed and thoughtfully laid out. We did not have suites, so each of our rooms had one king bed and a fold-out queen sofa. Everything (TV, plumbing, etc.) worked exactly as it should, and the rooms were very comfortable.

The breakfast provided was a really pleasant surprise. It was way more than the typical "free" breakfast of cold cereal, toast and yogurt. There were several hot choices (eggs, potatoes, breakfast meats, french toast) as well as the usual "sides." Really delicious. The location close to the Hamilton Place Mall ensures that you will have many good restaurant options for your other meals.

All in all, this Residence Inn has made it more likely that we will consider Residence Inns in other locations. Previously, we had only one experience with them, and it wasn't very positive due to the age and condition of the one we tried.

One note about the location: If you need to be somewhere around the morning, noon or evening rush hours, add a few extra minutes to your plans. This area does get very congested at those times.

We got the Aquarium package (no discount over purchasing tickets on-site or online, but convenient to get the vouchers ahead of time), but mistakenly thought we were staying closer to the Aquarium. Silly us! This hotel is located about 20 minutes via Interstate from the Aquarium. There is a Residence Inn (no connection to this hotel) one block from the Aquarium.

This hotel is clean, great staff, and excellent pool/spa. The weird thing about our room was that the interior design is bizarre. There was a furniture corner exposed right next to the couch, making it possible to hit yourself really hard if you aren't paying close attention. Also, the bathroom door and commode are configured in such a way that you almost always hit yourself with the bathroom door when you enter and exit (maddening)!

This hotel is PET-FRIENDLY. We saw several pets!

PROS: Clean, clean, clean. Free parking. WIFI is quick for a hotel.

CONS: Street entrance to this hotel is NOT marked well. Call the Front Desk to get specific directions. Also, be careful moving through your room, especially if you have small children to ensure no one will bump into edges of furniture or doors.

Very nice hotel overall and a good staff but this is not a non smoking hotel. They had several areas where people were smoking including the very nice outdoor patio area. Every night we were there people (mostly men) were smoking and drinking on the outdoor patio. This made it impossible for others to enjoy the area which included a BBQ grill and fire pit. There were also areas by the doors where people smoked. A posted non smoking property should be non smoking.

The positives were the beds, staff, location, laundry and bathroom.

The negatives were the room size, meals (not up to Embassy Suite's standards), up scale feel was missing because of the drunk men every night in the common areas, poor kitchen, internet, wifi and high cost.

Overall, I felt this hotel was trying to be upscale with price and some special amenities but then fell short with the basics. If you are going to charge that much for a room then you need to include the wifi, up the food quality, fix the exercise room, limit the smoking and public drinking (our teenage daughter was approached several times by grown men) and give out a full set of bath towels. It is the little things that will set you apart in the end.

My wife and I recently visited Chattanooga, and enjoyed out stay at the Residence Inn. Normally, we try not to stay at hotels with kitchenettes, but our stay here was wonderful. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was included in the morning, and they were hot with a nice variety of cereals, grains and fruit. The staff was very friendly, and went out of their way to help us with directions and attractions. The hotel was close to everything, and having such a great room made out stay that much more enjoyable.

We family of 5 people 2 adults, a teenager son and two daughter 8 and 5 years old
checked in here on the 12 th of October nice persons in the recepstion told us all about the hotel and that they had free food(snack ) and drinks from Mon-Wens and we where welcome to join into that which we did , and got to talk with some nice people working there , nice food and some desserts aswell some strawberry cheesecake I think it was so this evening we didn´t have to go out for dinner, they have a big indoors swimming pool and a hottub which we all enjoyed very much in the two days we where there , they had a outside garden where there was a fireplace and got to learn to know some people working in the area , but living on hotel when they where there.
The room or rooms I should say was kitchen with all in it and a sofarollerbed and another room with two double bed suited us good since the teeanger got his own space in the extra kitchen/living room area , we used the time there to see Rock City and Inceliner and did some shopping at the mall in the area , also ate at Applebees the next day for dinner
Its a great hotel with friendly people and it was laided back in a quiter area

Room Tip: We had a high floored room , but I just have that when I get to any hotel its in my profil for my Ma...

Room was clean and well appointed and was very nice. Reception was welcoming but have to say that we avoided breakfast as looked quite poor in comparison to the other places we stayed which offered an excellent free breakfast choice. But overall good.
